A walk through life toward eternity

The Precision Inside Us

Before we start, let it be said, “I am not a mathematician.”  Don’t laugh.  My husband is a man of numbers, my daughter is a mathematics college major, and my second daughter, one gifted by God through love also giddily dives into all things math, but not me.  My brain leans the other way toward wordsmithing and literature, while their brains lean toward counting and analytics.  So, years ago, it was definitely odd when I began following a religiously focused science website.  In my readings, I discovered a fascinating read of a neurosurgeon’s walk from atheism to belief, a wonderful read if ever there was one.  The Brain.  Do you ever consider how our brain works and what would we ever do within our bodies IF our brains suddenly stopped properly working?

Biologists are constantly studying our bodies, and recently their research has led them back to the DNA that comprises each person.  Inside every one alive, there is a delicate thread weaving its way, untangled and perfectly arranged.  When God created you and me, He made this possible inside us.  According to scientists, there are trillions of cells moving at once, organizing, and working inside our bodies.  They keep everything working as it should, but what happens when a health issue suddenly alters our composition, causing our bodies to become sick.  For example, when our arteries become clogged and our body reacts by undergoing a stroke, one that affects our motion and the brain’s ability to generate spoken word—what does that do to our DNA?  Scientists have recently attempted to battle against the loss of speech by creating a device that would work as a computer inside our brains, decoding and creating spoken thoughts.

Let’s be specific here.  God creates pure precision inside each person, orchestrating our DNA to perform exactly as it should.

We do not need a science textbook, massive amounts of journal articles, nor even a scientific website to prove this so, for the Bible, God’s Word, clearly points to this truth.

There once lived a man named Elkanah who lived with his wives (yes plural, as in two).  One wife, Peninnah bore children but the other wife, Hannah, was barren.  Hannah knew her husband’s rituals, and each year, Elkanah would walk to Shiloh to worship and offer a sacrifice.  When he did, on that day, Elkanah would give portions to his wife Peninnah and to all her sons and daughters, “but to Hannah he would give a double portion, for he loved Hannah, but the LORD had closed her womb.” (The 1st Book of Samuel 1: 5 NASB)

Hannah was brokenhearted, for her womb remained barren, and the other wife (Peninnah) mocked her, making fun of her lack of children, speaking all types of evil words to Hannah.  Now, this is where God’s story becomes quite beautiful & here, we see The Precision the LORD has Created Inside Us.

Year-after-year, Elkanah would travel with his wives to offer sacrifice and to worship the LORD.  His wife Hannah began to arise each day, walking alone to the temple to pray.  One particular day, Eli the priest found her sitting and weeping and clearly distressed.

“As for Hannah, she was speaking in her heart,
only her lips were moving, but her voice was not heard.
So Eli thought she was drunk.
Then Eli said to her, “How long will you make yourself drunk?  Put away your wine from you.”
But Hannah replied, “No, my lord, I am a woman oppressed in spirit;

I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink,
but I have poured out my soul before the LORD.
Do not consider your maidservant as a worthless woman,

for I have spoken until now out of my great concern and provocation.”

 (The 1st Book of Samuel 1: 13-16 NASB)

Even though Hannah did not speak an audible word, the LORD heard Hannah’s prayers, for in HIS omniscience, HE knew the depth of her heart.

If we know the rest of God’s story, then we know Hannah made a vow to the LORD, promising that if the LORD would grant her desire to birth a son, then she would dedicate that son to the LORD.  Before she left the temple that day, the priest Eli spoke encouragement to her soul.

“Then Eli answered and said, “Go in peace;
and may the God of Israel grant your petition that you have asked of Him.”
She said, “Let your maidservant find favor in your sight.”
So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.”

(The 1st Book of Samuel 1: 17-18 NASB)

The next day, they worshipped the LORD early in the morning & then returned home.  Time went on, life happened, and Hannah became pregnant with a son.

THE LORD HEARD THE WHISPERED PRAYER DEEP INSIDE HER BEING &

THE LORD ANSWERED HER PRAYER.

The Bible explains how this happened.  Elkanah and Hannah conceived, and in time, Hannah gave birth to a son, naming the boy Samuel, “saying, “Because I have asked him of the LORD.” (The 1st Book of Samuel 1: 20b NASB)

Then Hannah prayed, lifting her voice in a song of Thanksgiving, one of worship to the LORD who answers prayers.

“Then Hannah prayed and said,
“My heart exults in the LORD;
My horn is exalted in the LORD,
My mouth speaks boldly against my enemies,
Because I rejoice in Your salvation.
There is no one holy like the LORD,
Indeed, there is no one besides You,
Nor is there any rock like our God.
Boast no more so very proudly,
Do not let arrogance come out of your mouth;
For the LORD is a God of knowledge,
And with Him actions are weighed.”

(The 1st Book of Samuel 2: 1-3 NASB)

Your heart’s desire & your soul calls out to the LORD.  Whether you and I speak aloud our prayers or whisper them inside our hearts, THE LORD HEARS OUR PRAYERS, just the same.  The LORD hears & the LORD knows.  He examines our secret thoughts, our prayers, and when we are weak and feeble, the LORD LIFTS US.

  • Omniscient—“For the LORD is a God of knowledge.”
  • Omniscient—For the LORD has created Precision Inside Us when HE fashioned us in our mother’s womb.
  • Omniscient—For there are trillions of cells moving at once, organizing, & working in our bodies.
  • Omniscient—For there is a delicate thread of DNA inside each person alive, weaving its way, untangled and perfectly arranged.
  • Omniscient—For when God created you and me, He made this possible.

Praise GOD for the answers HE provides to our prayers.  &

Praise the LORD for The Precision HE Created Inside Us.
