A walk through life toward eternity

Our Feet and The Creator & Being Different as We Stand Upon the Truth

Some are just “weirded out” about touching or seeing others’ feet.  As I think that thought, I think of the young lady who lives thousands of miles away from me.  Then, there are some who are making money on Instagram by taking and posting photos of their feet.  This thought reminds me of the one who lives hundreds of miles away from me.

Maybe you have read the previous sentences and wonder:  What’s up with this discussion of feet?  Well, the Bible has something to say

  • about beautiful feet,
  • about being different (quite peculiar) in the world and
  • about those who belong to the Creator.

To start, let’s first begin with what the Bible speaks about believers’ feet.

“How will they preach unless they are sent?
Just as it is written,
“HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!”

(The Letter of Paul to the Romans 10: 15 NASB)

We sat there talking with 5,000+ miles separating us.  “Look at this,” she exclaimed as she turned her phone toward the setting sun.  “Oh, how beautiful,” I replied.  “Turn your phone back around.  What is that building?” I asked.  I desired to know what building was magnified by the sun’s setting.  “It’s a church,” she replied.

How ironic, I mused, that this lovely girl could be awed by the creation, by the setting sun but not be astounded by the Creator who made all things possible.

See what the Bible speaks about the Creator.

“For since the creation of the world
His invisible attributes,
His eternal power and divine nature,
have been clearly seen,
being understood through what has been made,
so that they are without excuse.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Romans 1: 20 NASB)

Daily sunsets, mountainside hikes and mountain peaks, volcanos and the ocean waves compel us to stop and observe the handiwork of the Creator.  God made it quite evident to each one of us.  We know because the Bible tells us so.  Therefore—

  • Have you ever stood barefooted on the lawn?
  • Do you recall sensing the softness of the grass beneath your feet?
  • Have you ever observed the rising or setting of the sun?
  • Do you recall the way your eyes burned as you looked toward the bright sunshine?

If so, then can you acknowledge, finding it possible to whisper in your heart:  “Maybe there is a Creator, One who spoke the universe and the celestial heavens into existence.”  Could it be that the One who spoke the animal kingdom into existence created me?  Is it really the truth that God created mankind, fashioning us from the dust and breathing His breath of life into our being?

  • Do we worship the creation or the Creator?
  • Are we thankful the Father sent the Messiah, who came to seek and to save?

Notice what the Bible speaks about believers being different in the world and being quite peculiar as the followers of Jesus.

Judgment Day is coming!

Jesus Christ promised—He is coming again!

Followers of Jesus have a responsibility, a duty, and a privilege to SHARE JESUS with everyone.

For if not me, then who & if not you, then who will tell them about the SAVIOR?

  • Are we thankful for the salvation the LORD has provided us?
  • Are we grateful for the JOY we have received through JESUS?

The Bible is clear about Hell at the end of time.  When Jesus returns to raise up His church, then those who have chosen to refuse His salvation will be judged because their name does not exist in the Lamb’s book of life.

“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it,
from whose presence earth and heaven fled away,
and no place was found for them.
And I saw the dead, the great and the small,
standing before the throne,
and books were opened;
and another book was opened, which is the book of life;
and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books,
according to their deeds.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it,
and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them;
and they were judged,
everyone one of them according to their deeds.

Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire.
This is the second death, the lake of fire.

And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life,
he was thrown into the fire.”

(The Revelation to John 20: 11-15 NASB)

It is a choice to see the Creator.

&

It is a decision to believe in Jesus and what He did for mankind on the cross and in the grave.

See what the Bible speaks about the individual who belongs to the Creator & about the one who has given his heart to Jesus.

  • We have a decision to allow our feet to move as the Spirit of God leads.
  • As believers, we are called to be different, to be odd, to stand as peculiar in this world.

Followers of Christ—

  • We Must Stand Upon Our Convictions.
  • We Must Let Others See Jesus in Us.
  • We Must Proclaim The CREATOR & not The Creation.
  • We Must Glorify God.
  • We Must Share Jesus.

Our Feet and The Creator & Being Different as We Stand Upon the Truth

We Must Stand Upon God’s Truth!

“How will they preach unless they are sent?
Just as it is written,
“HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!”

&
For I am not ashamed of the gospel,
for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, . . .”

(The Letter of Paul to the Romans 10: 15 & 1: 16a NASB)
