We Have Limitations
Examinations are difficult.
We attend class, take pages of notes, read the assigned chapters, ask questions to engage with the material being taught—THEN THE EXAMINATION DAY COMES—and suddenly all our hard work seems for naught.
We studied for hours prior to the exam, looking over our class notes, reviewing our margin annotations inside the textbook, and attending study groups with peers—but then we step into the examination & suddenly we have forgotten all that we knew.
The question becomes: Did we study for the accurate test?—OR—Did we fail to prepare, giving into the temptation to rest on what we ‘thought’ we should know?
THE LORD’S TESTING CLEARLY HAS TWO OUTCOMES:
- We will either pass His testing, moving us into a deeper walk of faith. OR
- We will fail His testing that He has lovingly provided to draw us closer to Him.
- We can know God through His Only Son Jesus Christ.
- We can accept, believe & receive His priceless gift of salvation.
- We can walk with Jesus daily, led by His Holy Spirit.
& still
We have limitations because there remains so much about God we will never know on this side of heaven. Tragedies may come, loss may arrive to our homes, devastation and despair may permeate us everywhere we turn—EXAMINATIONS. We must recognize always how the Lord’s examinations (testing) is different, so much different, than Satan’s temptations.
The Lord’s testing leads us to a closer walk with Him.
BUT
The devil’s temptation only leads us away from the God we love.
- We Have Limitations understanding all that we may experience this side of heaven.
- We Have Limitations preparing for some examinations the Lord may have us walk through.
- We Even Have Limitations accepting everything the Lord uses within our lives to grow our faith.
However, may we never forget how our ‘UNDERSTANDING, & our ‘PREPARING’ & our ‘ACCEPTING’ are for one reason only, and that reason is for HIM!
When we believe in Jesus and accept Him as our Savior, we are promised eternity with Him.
When Jesus saves our soul, He seals us with His Holy Spirit, “who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.” (The Letter of Paul to the Ephesians 1: 14 NASB)
A person gives up what he cannot keep (his life here on earth) to gain what he cannot lose (his eternal life & the heavenly rewards promised when he dies to self and lives for Christ).
Examinations are difficult.
But praise God, we have His Holy Presence, His Holy Spirit residing within us, walking beside us, guiding us, instructing us, preparing us, and leading us through the exams.
HIS PRESENCE WITHIN US HELPS US OVERCOME OUR LIMITATIONS THAT EXIST WITHIN US!
