Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

SPEAK TRUTH—Each one of us—Who BELIEVE in HIM

“Therefore, laying aside falsehood,
SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOR,
for we are members of one another.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Ephesians 4: 25 NASB)

The apostle Paul writes his letter to the believers, to the saints, to those who have chosen to live in the city Ephesus, and who are faithful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ.  In writing this letter, Paul reminds this early church of this truth:  Despite how much our lives may look like a mess, like the messy backside of a tapestry, the Bible states how EVERYTHING HAS A PURPOSE.

In GOD’S GLORIOUS masterpiece the Lord is creating our lives.

  • Does your life seem to be shaking?
  • Does the very ground you stand upon seem to be moving?
  • Are you fearful that your feet will slip, that you will fall?
  • Are you scared that everything dear to you will be lost?

Paul reminds this group of fellow believers that God “chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, . . . “ (Ephesians 1: 4a)

Consider the depth of this last statement.  Before God made the world, He thought of you & me.  Even before God made the planets and galaxies, He considered you  &  Although the world was void and without form, GOD LOVINGLY CHOSE YOU!

Thus, the most important question we must daily ask of ourselves:  How will I glorify my Lord as I walk through this single day He has given to me?

  • Will I share the mystery of His will revealed to me with another?

  • Will I proclaim His goodness, how He has given me an inheritance in heaven?
  • Will I praise His glory?
  • Will I speak the truth of how His Holy Spirit led me to accept & believe & then sealed me in Him?
  • Will I tell another about this pledge the Creator of the world has bestowed personally upon me?
  • Will I give Him thanks—in everything?
  • Will I bow my head to pray & Will I raise my hands high and give His praise?
  • Will I ask my Lord to give me a divine appointment to tell another about the HOPE I HAVE RECEIVED IN HIM—IN JESUS! ?

EVERYTHING WE DO IN LIFE IS TO THE GLORY OF GOD!

THAT’S HOW WE POINT OTHERS TO JESUS!

This becomes the most important part of our day to remember—

  • We are now the children of light, and we must live unto the Lord.
  • We are now new creatures in His likeness.
  • We are called to be holy as He is Holy.
  • We are to be an open book for all to read, as our lives speak Jesus in this dark world.

God’s Word is powerfully capable of overwhelming all darkness.

Jesus Himself tells us how.

“And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit,
and news about Him spread through all the surrounding district.
And He began teaching in their synagogues and was praised by all.
And He came to Nazareth,

where He had been brought up;
and as was His custom,
He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath,
and stood up to read.
And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him.
And He opened the book and found the place where it was written,

“THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME,
BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH

THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR.
HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM

RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES,
AND RECOVERY TO THE BLIND,
TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED,
TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD.”

“And He closed the book,
gave it back to the attendant and sat down;
and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him.
And He began to say to them,

“Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

(The Gospel According to Luke 4: 14-21 NASB)

Today, may we who BELIEVE in HIM—SPEAK TRUTH—The TRUTH of HIM.
