Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Fully Convinced

It was an ordinary day when the LORD came to his home.

“Now the LORD appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre,
while he was sitting at the tent door in the heat of the day.”

(Genesis 18: 1 NASB)

He saw them coming, the three coming toward his home, and when he did, he knew what he must do.

“When he lifted up his eyes and looked, behold,
three men were standing opposite him,
and when he saw them,
he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed himself to the earth,
and said,
“My Lord, if now I have found favor in Your sight,
please do not pass Your servant by.”

(Genesis 18: 2-3 NASB)

Are we fully convinced God is able to do that which He has promised?

Abraham was.  No unbelief made him waver.  He believed the promise of God.  His faith grew strong as he glorified God.

“Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body,
now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old,
and the deadness of Sarah’s womb;
yet, with respect to the promise of God,
he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith,
giving glory to God,
and being fully assured that what God had promised,
He was able also to perform.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Romans 4: 19-21 NASB)

The Promises of God are sure—

  • He promises to save our soul when we believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son.
  • He promises to go with us, to be with us, forever, never forsaking us or leaving us.
  • He promises that nothing will ever separate us from God’s love.
  • He promises to provide for our needs.
  • He promises to give us what we need & the words we need to speak when He sends us to do His will.

“Then they said to him,
“Where is Sarah your wife?”
And he said, [Abraham did]
“There, in the tent.”
He said,

[the LORD said to Abraham]
“I will surely return to you at this time next year; and behold, Sarah your wife will have a son.”
And Sarah was listening at the tent door, which was behind him.
Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in age;
Sarah was past childbearing.”

(Genesis 18: 9-11 NASB)

Be Fully Convinced—God will do Exactly as He Promises!
