A walk through life toward eternity

What Happens in the Middle

And there was war in heaven,
Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon.
The dragon and his angels waged war,
and they were not strong enough,
and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven.

And the great dragon was thrown down,
the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan,
who deceives the whole world;
he was thrown down to the earth,
and his angels were thrown down with him.”
. . .
“For this reason, rejoice,
O heavens and you who dwell in them.
Woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has come down to you,
having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.”

(The Revelation to John 12: 7-9 & 12 NASB)

There was a war, one like nothing ever before, one like nothing ever since, and one like nothing that will ever be.

  • On the ‘right’ side waging war, declared the victor even before war began—the archangel Michael and all his angels.
  • On the ‘wrong’ side, defeated even before the war began—the great dragon, the serpent, the devil, Satan, and his angels.

As we consider the magnificent magnitude of the war in heaven, our minds land on the word—Hallelujah!

Let’s remind ourselves why.

“The dragon and his angels waged war,
and
they were not strong enough,
and
there was no longer a place found for them in heaven.”

(The Revelation to John 12: 7b-8 NASB)

This war occurred way-back-when, even before we existed; nevertheless, the war affects us still today because we exist inside the wrath of the one who has remained defeated.  The devil hates that he lost the war, and since the moment he was banished to earth, Satan has continued to wage his own war against us—humanity created by Almighty God.

The Bible speaks with authority and clarity, reminding us how we are to rejoice.  That’s right—Rejoice!

We are told why, and it is all because of What Happens in the Middle!

  • To Testify, of what God has done for each one of us who believe, does not need a ‘specialness’ of character.

That’s right.

  • To testify, to be a witness for Christ simply means that one needs to have a personal story to tell about what Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God has done, telling how He has changed your life.

A Personal Testimony, personal because the blood of Jesus Christ covers the multitude of our sins.  Today, our personal testimony could be the difference between a person spending eternity in Heaven—or—Hell.

May we faithfully, with great mindfulness, and with the strength of the LORD GOD, tell the world about this great war in heaven, and as we do—May We Tell What Has Happened in the Middle—telling the world how “the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night. And they overcame him [Satan himself is already defeated] because of the blood of the Lamb . . .” (The Revelation to John 12: 10b-11a NASB)

  • May we tell how the victory has already been won!
  • May we tell the world how Jesus will return for His bride, the church!
  • May we tell all who will listen, praying for gospel conversation opportunities!
  • May we tell anyone and everyone—JESUS, the LAMB of GOD, won the war when HE died on the CROSS & arose from the GRAVE to NEW LIFE!

The Scripture shouts with Truth!

“And the great dragon was thrown down,
the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan,
who deceives the whole world;
he was thrown down to the earth,
and his angels were thrown down with him.”

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,
[Here’s What Has Occurred—
Why we are to REJOICE &
Why we are called to TESTIFY]

“Now the salvation,
and the power,
and the kingdom of our God
and the authority of His Christ have come,

for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down,
he who accuses them before our God day and night.

And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb
and because of the word of their testimony,
and they did not love their life even when faced with death.

For this reason,
rejoice,

O heavens and you who dwell in them.

Woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has come down to you,
having great wrath,
knowing that he has only a short time.”

(The Revelation to John 12: 9-12 NASB)
