Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

“What is truth?”

“Now when John, while imprisoned,
heard of the works of Christ,
he sent word by his disciples
and said to Him,
“Are You the Expected One,
or shall we look for someone else?”

(The Gospel According to Matthew 11: 2-3 NASB)

“What is truth?”

That was the question that came to me this week.

“When it comes to faith, there is no right or wrong.”

My heart stopped beating (it seemed) as I took in the depth of these words spoken to me this week.

  • How could a person believe there is no Right way to believe, to have faith?
  • How could a person believe that it made no difference:  No Wrong way to have faith?
  • How could a person walk throughout life believing that there was no difference?  &
  • How long would a person stand in opposition to Jesus Christ the Messiah?

“Jesus said to him,
[Jesus spoke these words to Thomas who asked about the way.]
&
[Jesus still speaks these words to all humanity]
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

(The Gospel According to John 14: 6 NASB)
  • We must place our eyes on the Word of God and learn what God says.
  • We must pick up the Bible, the Word that presents the Lord Jesus Christ.

One day soon, we will stand before the throne of Almighty God, and the only question that will eternally matter, the only personal relationship that will be significant—

WHAT DID I DO WITH JESUS?

YES, the love of God transcends.

But NO, there are two eternal destinations:  Heaven & Hell.

YES, many dispute the TRUTH of GOD & HIS LOVE.

But NO ONE can share eternity in heaven with GOD and reject HIS SON.

YES, this is the reason why GOD SENT HIS ONLY SON to a world full of lost people.

Life comes with choices, decisions we must make.

The Creator GOD has placed within each of us an innate desire to know HIM.

  • We are born; we are flesh:  body & soul.

Our bodies will age and walk through this earthly life toward death, but our soul never dies.

  • We hear the voice of God calling to us to come to Him.
  • We are given an individual decision, a choice to make.

Accept JESUS CHRIST as our SAVIOR—OR—Reject JESUS.

May every single one of us CHOOSE WISELY!

For one day, we will each stand before the throne of Almighty God to be judged by HIM!

There are so many ways to receive REST here on earth.

  • Physical REST from moving one’s body.
  • Sensory REST from all surrounding stimulators.
  • Mental REST can give a break from the daily stressors.
  • Creative REST allows one to step into God’s creation.
  • Social REST takes one from being ‘connected’ to unconnected.
  • Emotional REST provides one a time to desensitize, to extinguish our emotional overload.

However, the epitome of all REST comes only from GOD!

HE ALONE offers to all who believe in JESUS—ETERNAL SPIRITUAL REST.

JESUS brings assurance, answering the question asked by all:  “What is truth?”

JESUS brought me into HIS TRUTH!

JESUS—

  • Rescued me by reaching down from heaven and receiving me into HIS Arms.
  • Rescued me by bringing me out into HIS broad place.
  • Rescued me by delighting in me, wanting me to become HIS.
  • Rescued me by taking away my sin and giving me New Life in HIM.
  • Rescued me by Making Me, Sustaining Me & Changing My Whole Life.

Once I was LOST, but now I am FOUND in JESUS!

Without Jesus, I would have died at the end of my life, but now—Because of JESUS CHRIST—death has been overcome, for I will be in heaven with JESUS.

When I was fifteen (15), standing there in the small country church, sensing the voice of God speaking to me through His Holy Spirit, I had a choice to make, a decision, one that held my eternity in the balance.

That autumn day, JESUS CHRIST RESCUED ME!

This seals the question:  “What is TRUTH?” forevermore!

“I love You, O LORD, my strength.”
The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised,
And I am saved from my enemies.”

(The Psalms 18: 1-3 NASB)
