Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

The Conclusion of HIS Story

“Our Redeemer,
the LORD of hosts is His name,
The Holy One of Israel.”

(The Book of Isaiah 47: 4 NASB)

Where do we plant our minds?  Really.  What do we allow our minds to dwell upon for the majority of every day?  Are we thinking of our children?  Of our careers?  Of our hobbies?  Of our next holiday journey?  Of our next clothing or shoe purchase?  Of what we will do with our next day off work?  Clearly, our minds can be busy places, and truly, within the span of one single day, we can entertain tens of thousands of thoughts.  Psychologists tell us this.

The Word of God tells us something different, reminding each of us where we are to place our minds, our hearts, our strength, our souls, our all.

In Him

we have redemption through His blood,
the forgiveness of our trespasses,

according to
the riches of His grace
which He lavished on us.

In all wisdom and insight
He made known to us the mystery of His will,
according to
His kind intention which He purposed in Him
with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times,
that is,
the summing up of all things in Christ,
things in the heavens and things on the earth.

In Him

also we have obtained an inheritance,
having been predestined

according to
His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,
to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ
would be to the praise of His glory.

In Him,

you also,
after listening to the message of truth,
the gospel of your salvation—
having also believed,
you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,
who is given as a pledge of our inheritance,

with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession,
to the praise of His glory.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Ephesians 1: 7-14 NASB)

There is a narrative, a truth story, one of fact and not fiction, a story that desperately must be told.  It is not up to us to tell HIS Story, but HE gives us the opportunity to share HIS Story with all we encounter.  Each day, we are given minutes, hours even, to share about the Savior.  Ponder this for a few moments.  God woke us up today because there is someone HE knows we will encounter today who needs encouragement, who needs help, who needs prayer, & who needs to meet His Son Jesus Christ.

The question—Will we be found faithful?

The LORD carries our burdens, carries our fears, carries our struggles, carries us even when we have not the strength to walk, for it is the LORD alone who encompasses—

Superlative Strength—Omnipotent—Power above all other powers in heaven and earth!

“the summing up of all things in Christ,

things in the heavens and things on the earth.”

That’s right.  The LORD GOD, Yahweh Is HIS name reigns as—The Commander & Chief!

Emmanuel—HE is with us— Omnipresent—Always!

Our Father never leaves us, nor forsakes us!

The Word of God tells us so!

HE is the LORD of Host & HE is the LORD of Armies!

Our Father has predestined a plan for HIS creation!

“His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, . . “

Without a single doubt, the KING of kings & LORD of lords, the Only God of the universe, of everything, KNOWS The Conclusion of HIS Story!

Casting Crowns sings the melody “Loving My Jesus” reminding us of the LORD GOD’S desire for all people to come to know His Only Son Jesus as their Savior.

Today, may we each be reminded—why God has determined our number of days upon the earth—&—our part we are to do within HIS Story.

  • May we not compartmentalize our lives, keeping parts of our being just for ourselves.
  • May we give all of ourselves to the LORD.
  • May we not hold on to positions within ourselves, thinking, ‘This is just one small part.’

“In all wisdom and insight
He made known to us the mystery of His will,
according to
His kind intention which He purposed in Him
with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times,
that is,
the summing up of all things in Christ,
things in the heavens and things on the earth.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Ephesians 1: 8b-10a NASB)

May we allow GOD to permeate throughout our entire self—our thoughts, our actions, our relationships, our secrets, & our worship.

Finally, may we each recognize this incredible story the LORD is writing of our lives as we walk the face of earth.  He began in us a ‘good work,’ one that HE WILL COMPLETE!

“The conclusion,

when all has been heard, is:

  • fear God
  • and keep His commandments,

because this applies to every person.

For God will bring every act to judgment,

everything which is hidden,

whether it is good or evil.”

(The Book of Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14 NASB)
