Don’t Settle for Less than ALL GOD INTENDS!
“Truly is not my house so with God?
(The Second Book of Samuel 23: 5 NASB)
For He has made an everlasting covenant with me,
Ordered in all things, and secured;
For all my salvation and all my desire,
Will He not indeed make it grow?”
If you are a child of God, then God has called you to become His child. It is a truth—GOD SEEKS TO SAVE THE LOST! If you are a child of God, then God has called you to grow up in your newness of life in Christ. It is a truth—GOD GROWS US INTO A LIFE OF HOLINESS! If you are a child of God, then God has called you specifically by name. It is a truth—GOD KNOWS EACH ONE HE CREATES BY NAME! If you are a child of God, then God is working within you, not through our strength but His. It is a truth—GOD’S POWER—GOD’S GRACE & GOD’S MERCY HAS GIVEN US ACCESS TO GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT!
Consider—
- We who believe have a well of righteousness within us.
- We who confess Jesus as our Savior have received godliness through Jesus.
- We who admit Jesus is the Son of God have been washed clean.
Therefore Consider—
GOD’S SANCTIFICATION IS GOD WORKING IN US!
“according to the foreknowledge of God the Father,
(The First Letter of Peter 1: 2 NASB)
by the sanctifying work of the Spirit,
to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood:
May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure.”
Both King David and the apostle Peter were sinners, just like us. Yet even though they sinned against God, when they confessed their sins to God, then God used both men in a mighty way.
Do Not Settle for Less than ALL GOD INTENDS FOR YOU & ME!
It is 100% True—God Saved You for a Reason!
- Yes, God saved us because we were lost, in need of the Savior Jesus.
- Yes, God saved us because without His Saving Grace, we were headed to hell.
- Yes, God saved us because without Jesus’ blood covering our sins, we had no hope.
- Yes, God saved us because He knew that without His Salvation, we would not come into His Eternal presence in heaven when our life is finished.
YES, GOD—Saved Us for So Much More!
“and though you have not seen Him,
(The First Letter of Peter 1: 8 NASB)
you love Him,
and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him,
you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,
obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.”
In David’s last song, he proclaims how his innermost heart grew, for it is God who—
- Made an everlasting covenant with David.
- Ordered & Secured David.
- Saved David
- Gave David a future.
- Changed David, giving him a new desire.
So, David exclaims: “Will He not indeed make it grow?”
- Will God surely not grow David’s heart in a way so that it aligns with God’s?
- Will God surely not order David’s life in a way so that he walks securely within God’s way?
- Will God surely not keep hold of David’s salvation forever?
- Will God surely not keep His promise to David concerning his eternal future?
- Will God surely not give to him the desires of God’s heart, since God has placed a new heart into David?
- Will God surely not continue His sanctifying work within David throughout his life until the day he dies & arrives in heaven?
It is 100% True—God Saved You & Me for a Reason!
We are now part of the “body of Christ” with “Jesus as our Head.”
We are to be a man, a woman (like David) after God’s own heart!
May We Not Settle for Less than ALL GOD INTENDS FOR YOU & ME!
Thus, we must—
- Continually confess our sins, seeking God’s forgiveness.
- Always strive to not hide our sins committed against God.
- Daily die to our selfish, sinful ways & Daily lay down our cross so we may walk with Him.
- Faithfully live like the new creature God has made us to be.
We must—
Grow in our newness of life & Look to the day we will rise with Christ!
Tenth Avenue North sings the melody “Invited” reminding us of WHO we are in CHRIST!
Therefore, we must—
- Always rely upon God’s Holy Spirit that God has given to us.
- We have a seal, a pledge, a promise from God Himself.
- We have a well of His righteousness within us.
- We have His godliness alive inside us.
Through Jesus, we have been washed thoroughly clean!
May We Never Settle for Less than ALL GOD INTENDS FOR US!
“and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross,
(The First Letter of Peter 2: 24 NASB)
so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness;
for by His wounds you were healed.”
