The Difference of Five (5) Minutes!
“And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind,
(The Acts of the Apostles 2: 2 NASB)
and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.”
- How fast is ‘suddenly’ when we are standing in line & our name is called—‘suddenly’?
- How quickly is ‘suddenly’ when we are praying & our entire being becomes calm—‘suddenly’?
- How immediate is ‘suddenly’ when our heart is racing, when we realize that our eternal destination are the fires of hell & then we call upon Jesus & He completely fills us—‘suddenly’?
There is a HUGE DIFFERENCE between five minutes ago and NOW!
That is correct.
Five minutes ago, we were lost to God. &
SUDDENLY we are ‘found’ through our repentance of our sins!
SUDDENLY we are NOW GOD’S CHILD!
Yes, quite amazingly,
We SUDDENLY belong to the body of CHRIST! &
We SUDDENLY become part of the church!
This transformation is IMMEDIATE & SUDDEN!
When we realize our need for Jesus, we also realize that without Jesus—WE HAVE NO HOPE!
Then becomes the life-altering salvation experience Jesus provides.
- We must ADMIT to God we are a sinner & repent—JESUS is who HE says HE is—GOD’S SON—ADMITTING OUR NEED OF JESUS & GOD’S AMAZING GRACE!
- We must BELIEVE Jesus is the Son of God—JESUS arose from the grave, defeating death so that we can receive NEWNESS of LIFE through HIM—BELIEVING JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY!
- We must CONFESS our faith in Jesus as Savior & Lord—JESUS will forgive us of our sins, save us & come into our hearts—CONFESSING JESUS AS LORD OF OUR LIVES!
Five minutes before—
We PRAY to RECEIVE JESUS AS OUR SAVIOR, to BECOME A CHILD OF GOD, realizing that if we don’t, we will remain LOST, forever separated from GOD.
Then a MIRACLE occurs—WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT LEADS US TO JESUS, THEN HE, (JESUS) COMES INTO OUR HEART!
The Difference of Five (5) Minutes is Astounding!
We have wrapped up VBS 2024, a wonderful time for children to come to know Jesus as their Savior. At a neighboring church, I learned that one child became God’s child this year, and last night, we celebrated how another child became God’s child.
VBS is an amazing outreach opportunity for churches (the body of Christ) across the world.
This year, we learned a new song, one that will remain with me for the duration of my days. It’s an amazing song, one I believe you need to hear. Please grab your earbuds, search on YouTube for Breaker Rock Beach music for kids—“The Only Way to Heaven.”
The Bible is clear!
Over and over, we can find Scripture references explaining exactly what occurs within a person when he receives Jesus. Please do not believe my words but read with me God’s Holy Word.

Once we were in disobedience, in many sins. We used to walk with Satan as our lord, just as the rest of humanity, obeying the devil and the leaders of the powers of the unseen world. Satan is constantly at work, seeking to devour, seeking to hold onto those who refuse to—
Believe & Come to Know Almighty God!
JESUS did not come to make bad people good.
- JESUS CAME TO MAKE DEAD PEOPLE ALIVE!
Once a person comes to JESUS—HE can change their desires & behaviors.
Once we become GOD’S CHILDREN—HIS goodness creates a ‘newness’ in us.
- JESUS CAME TO PROVIDE THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW GOD!
The kingdom Jesus invites us into is for those who are broken, for those who are weak, who are walking in darkness—for each one of us who were born.
The moment a person turns from his sin & TRUSTS in JESUS to be forgiven of his sins—the mercy & grace of God saves— &
THE PERSON IS SAVED!
“Now when they heard this,
(The Acts of the Apostles 2: 37-38 NASB)
they were pierced to the heart,
and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,
“Brethren, what shall we do?”
Peter said to them,
“Repent,
and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins;
and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
GOD IS—
- Our wisdom.
- Our healer.
- Our protector.
- Our guide.
- Our sustainer.
- Our KING!
- Our strength.
- Our SAVIOR!
Five minutes before we know Jesus as our Savior, we do not have peace & then Five minutes later—we have internal & eternal PEACE in HIM!
GOD IS STILL GOD—
- Despite the year.
- Despite the circumstances of our lives.
GOD IS UNCHANGING—
- FAITHFUL.
- FORGIVING!
- ALWAYS SEEKING THE LOST ONES!
The Difference of Five (5) Minutes—is HUGE—because five minutes ago, we were lost to God. &
SUDDENLY we are ‘found’ through our repentance of our sins & Our Sins Are Covered by the Blood of JESUS!
Quite amazingly, we SUDDENLY belong to the body of CHRIST! &
We SUDDENLY become part of the church!
IMMEDIATE & SUDDEN TRANSFORMATION!
from Lost to Saved!
SUDDENLY—NOW GOD’S CHILD!
