Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Extremely Mind-Blowing!

“The Spirit of God has made me,
And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.”

(The Book of Job 33: 4 NASB)

What does it mean to be made, to be created?

What would it be like to pause right here, right now, and consider what it would be like to go from complete nothingness: to being created, to being made by the Spirit of God?

&

What would it be like to: after creating, after fashioning, after making us, the very “breath of the Almighty” is placed into the person God has created, has made?

  • Nothing to Something!
  • Voidness and Non-Existent to Created & Existing!
  • Absent to Present!

Not Living to Suddenly BEING ALIVE!

Truly, this thought of being formed by the hands of God totally blows my mind.

Most-assuredly, this additional thought of being held, motionless within the hands of God, and imaging what it would look like for Almighty God to breathe His breath of life into our lungs, into the lungs of every single person who is alive on earth—Well, this is Extremely Mind-Blowing!

The prophet Isaiah described it this way—

“But now, O LORD, You are our Father,
We are the clay, and You our potter;
And all of us are the work of Your hand.”

(The Book of Isaiah 64: 8 NASB)

When I was a child, I absolutely loved when my parents bought us brand-new Play Dough.  The purchase came as a four-pack, wrapped together with yellow cardboard packaging.  The kid-in-me would hurriedly tear off the packaging and pop open one of the four different-colored containers (Red, Yellow, Green, Blue).  In my mind, I constructed these wonderful-looking objects, and I just knew that in a matter of minutes, my creation would be sitting there on the table for all to see and to awe over, even while looking at their attempted creations.

I AM NOT ARTISTIC!

  1. Just ask my sister, Jill, and her two daughters:  Taylor and Carley.
  2. Just ask my husband, Darrell, and our daughter, Sydney and her husband, Hunter.
  3. Just ask my brother-in-law, Scott, and his two sons-in-law, James and Ryan.
  4. Just ask my mom!  She will tell you the hard truth.

I AM NOT ARTISTIC!

For the last few years, as a Christmas tradition, my sister has invited us to her house for the “Annual Gingerbread House Making Contest.”  Always (in my mind) I see this beautifully, created house made of gingerbread, one covered with perfectly-smoothed white icing, and one decorated with colorful pieces of candy.

In my mind, I SEE this beautiful creation, but—

I AM NOT ARTISTIC!

Just ask my sister, Mischele, who has invited (for the past twenty years) the ENTIRE FAMILY over to her home for the “Annual Christmas Cookie Making Party.”  Always (in my mind) I see this beautifully, created sugar cookie, one covered with perfectly-smoothed white icing, and one decorated with colorful sprinkles.

I AM NOT ARTISTIC!

Always (in my mind) I see this beautiful creation, but what this crowd of witnesses see is the REAL TRUTH!

I AM NOT ARTISTIC!

I AM NOT CREATIVE!

I AM NOT TALENTED IN THE AREA OF ART!

I AM NOT!

BUT GOD IS!

BUT GOD, THE CREATOR, THE MAKER, THE ALMIGHTY WHO FASHIONED MANKIND, (every person who is alive, who ever lived, and who will come to be born) IS!

“But now, O LORD, You are our Father,
We are the clay, and You our potter;
And all of us are the work of Your hand.”

(The Book of Isaiah 64: 8 NASB)

Not only does the LORD create us from clay within His hands,

BUT THEN—

“The Spirit of God has made me,
And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.”

(The Book of Job 33: 4 NASB)

Extremely Mind-Blowing!

Thank You, GOD, for making us, for fashioning us, for creating us.

Thank You, LORD, for giving to us the breath of life.

Thank You, FATHER.

Help us, FATHER, to be mindfully aware of the value You hold in our created being and help us to be cautious today in the way we treat Your other created beings who we will encounter this day.  For, LORD, the Truth is the TRUTH!  We belong to You because, God, You created us in Your image.  The Word of God tells us so!

“For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.”

(The Book of Psalms 139: 13-16 NASB)

YES, LORD,

EXTREMELY, MIND-BLOWING!

THAT YOU WOULD LOVE US THIS MUCH THAT YOU WOULD PAIN-STAKENINGLY MAKE EACH ONE OF US—“in Your image”!

EXTREMELY, MIND-BLOWING!

THAT YOU WOULD LOVE US THIS MUCH THAT YOU WOULD FORM US INSIDE OUR MOTHER’S WOMB!

EXTREMELY, MIND-BLOWING!

THAT YOU WOULD LOVE US THIS MUCH THAT YOU WOULD CREATE OUR FRAME & SEE OUR “unformed substance”!

EXTREMELY, MIND-BLOWING!

THAT YOU WOULD LOVE US THIS MUCH THAT YOU WOULD WRITE—

“in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.”

(The Book of Psalms 139: 16b NASB)

EXTREMELY, MIND-BLOWING!

Help us not to squander a single day of life, but LORD, help us live each day—

HONORING & PRAISING & THANKING YOU—

FOR ALL THAT YOU HAVE DONE IN YOUR REVELATION OF YOUR LOVE FOR US!

YES, LORD, THANK YOU—

FOR SENDING YOUR ONLY SON, JESUS—

SO THAT WE MIGHT BELIEVE IN JESUS & ACCEPT YOUR GIFT OF SALVATION!

YES, LORD, THANK YOU, SO MUCH—

THAT WE MIGHT SHARE THE “ETERNITY OF LIFE” WITHIN YOUR PRESENCE—

THE VERY PLACE YOU INTENDED FROM THE MOMENT YOU CREATED US!
