Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Oh, What a Day Brings

“The heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And
their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
Day to day pours forth speech,
And night to night reveals knowledge.”

(Psalm 19: 1-2 NASB)

My work as a teacher reflects something of who I am (as a person) because the lessons I teach, the way I teach, and the reactions to my students—each reflect who I am as a teacher, a woman, a person, a child of God.

Can a reflection of “the creation” lead to a greater appreciation for & a deeper knowledge of the One who is the Creator of all?

All creation reveals its Creator & the Creator’s glory.

Reflect upon creation.

Who are we?

God, we are Your creation.

As such, may we reflect YOU!

There is an annual solar eclipse expected this weekend, one that will be revealed to some, but not to all.  An eclipse is a powerful interaction between the Sun, Moon, and the Earth, and usually, the earth experiences four to six per annual year.  This weekend, there will be an eclipse for some to “see,” but one should never look directly AT a solar eclipse.  Studies show that when we do (look at a solar eclipse with our naked, unprotected eyes) we can sustain burns to our eyes.  BURNS TO OUR EYES!  Studies reveal that the burns will not even be felt at the time one is standing with his head tilted back and looking up toward the eclipse of the sun.  Hours later, or even days later, the damage will be felt, already done.  In the Bible, Jesus speaks of a coming eclipse, one we will see with our eyes, and when we do (see THIS ECLIPSE) we will know with all assurance JESUS HAS COME!

“But in those days, after the tribulation, THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT,

AND THE STARS WILL BE FALLING from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken.

Then they will see THE SON OF MAN COMING IN CLOUDS with great power and glory.”

. . .

[Then Jesus warns us]

“Therefore, be on the alert—for you do not know when the master of the house is coming,

  • whether in the evening,
  • at midnight,
  • or when the rooster crows,
  • or in the morning—

In case he should come suddenly and find you asleep.

What I say to you I say to all, ‘Be on the alert!’ “

(Mark 13: 24-26 & 35-37 NASB)

Oh, What a Day Brings

There is a certain “inheritance” each child of God must claim.  Joshua, the son of Nun, spoke to the Israelites of their inheritance shortly before he died at the age of 110

the importance of claiming God’s inheritance.

  • Let us read these words—together—Let us claim with boldness & holy living—

“The people said to Joshua, “We will serve the LORD our God and we will obey His voice.”

So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and made for them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.

And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God; and he took a large stone and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of the LORD.

Joshua said to all the people, “Behold this stone shall be for a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of the LORD which He spoke to us; thus it shall be for a witness against you, so that you do not deny your God.”

Then Joshua dismissed the people, each to his inheritance.”

(Joshua 24: 24-28 NASB)

Paul, an apostle of the LORD spoke to the people of God living in Ephesus—

our inheritance freely given to us through the blood of Jesus.

  • Let us recall with sincerity Oh, What a Day Bringsthe day we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him.  In love

He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,

to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace

which He lavished on us.”

. . .

In Him

also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will

to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory.

In Him,

you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvationhaving also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,

who is given as a pledge of our inheritance with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.”

(Ephesians 1: 3-8a & 10b-14 NASB)
  1. The faithful servant Joshua reminds the people of God:  “thus it shall be for a witness against you, so that you do not deny your God.” (Joshua 24: 24-27b NASB)
  2. The apostle Paul, the one who brought the gospel to the ends of the earth reminds the people of God:  “that we would be holy and blameless before Him.” (Ephesians 1:4B NASB)

Jesus is coming—back—someday soon to rapture His church!

JESUS IS COMING!

We who accept Jesus as Savior & Lord have been sealed with a pledge, a promise of our inheritancethe Holy Spirit of God living within us!

  • May we claim our inheritance today & walk worthy of it!

Jesus said Himself:  “What I say to you I say to all, ‘Be on the alert!’ “ (Mark 13: 37 NASB)

The day of the “GREAT ECLIPSE” will come; let no one speak otherwise!

“But in those days, after the tribulation, THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, . . .” (Mark 13: 24 NASB)

OH, WHAT A DAY THAT WILL BRING—

“Then they will see THE SON OF MAN COMING IN CLOUDS with great power and glory.” (Mark 13: 26 NASB)
