Wait . . . for the LORD!
“Then the LORD answered me and said,”
(Habakkuk 2: 2a NASB)
Pause for a moment.
Consider the significance of the first portion of this precious Bible verse.
- The LORD GOD of the entire universe—answered—me.
- The heavenly father—answered—me.
- The Creator of the world—answered—me.
Consider the significance.
&
Also plant yourself within this thought: Not only did the LORD answer, but the LORD also spoke.
Oh, wow!
- How long have we been praying for a particular request?
- How many days, weeks, months, or years?
- Have we ever “almost” thought, “God, what’s the use?”
- Have we ever wondered why we continue to pray for “this”?
- Truthfully, have we ever accused our Father of being “slow”?
Does it seem that we are praying & nothing seems to be changing”?
“Record the vision
(Habakkuk 2: 2b-3a NASB)
And inscribe it on tablets,
That the one who reads it may run.
For the vision is yet for the appointed time; . . .”
As we think about our specific prayer requests, this verse seems to command that we “write down” the truth that God is teaching us, the way the LORD is assuring us, encouraging us, reminding us, and planting us within a particular truth: “For the vision is yet for the appointed time; . . .”
May we:
Remember WHO is speaking directly to the prophet Habakkuk.
May we:
Recall WHO answered the prophet.
May we:
Firmly rest within this—THE LORD ANSWERED! & THE LORD SPOKE!
May we:
Find comfort in knowing that the LORD is not slow in His reply to a request from His child.
May we:
Understand that God hears us.
May we:
Rest right there.
. . .
Pause
. . .
Wait
. . .
Praise God & Thank our Heavenly Father—for HE is NEVER SLOW—EVER!
God will always answer in one of three ways: “NO!” “YES!” or “YES, but LATER!”
God never fails to answer His children’s prayers!
The Bible says so!
For God Himself said: “For the vision is yet for the appointed time; . . .”
Often, we speak about the fact that we must not become weary in praying. Yes, we say that, but then we do, in fact, become weary. Let us remember that God NEVER stops listening to our requests; God knows our hearts; & God is ALWAYS AT WORK, even when it seems like nothing is changing.
We must remember how our Father sees everything from Heaven, so that means His calendar, His clock, His days—are not anything like our march of time. SO, WE MUST WAIT!
However, that does not mean we “sit on our hands” as we wait. No, we continue to pray, to work in the tasks the LORD has given us to do, & to share with others about our Lord Jesus, & we continue to praise GOD—in the wait.
“It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail.
(Habakkuk 2: 3b NASB)
Though it tarries, wait for it; . . .”
God heard His prophet Habakkuk’s request.
- God heard & He answered.
- God heard, He answered, & He spoke to the one who was HIS!
Consider the significance of what God has given to each child of God.
Ponder it.
- Pray in thanksgiving for it.
- Sing in praise for the beauty of what we have received—ALREADY.
Worship God & Never Cease—WORSHIPPING GOD!
“For it will certainly come, it will not delay.”
(Habakkuk 2: 3c NASB)
