What do you LOVE—MOST—about GOD?
Today is the first day of February, the day I promised to love, honor, and cherish my husband until “death do we part.” That promise was given to my husband thirty-seven years ago—today. Since that day, God has grown us as a couple, teaching us how we are not two but one. GOD does this by revealing HIS LOVE to us day after day after day!
It is a truth; we LOVE because GOD first LOVED us!
So, during this February month (when my husband and I celebrate our wedding anniversary) (& when so many focus upon the 14th day, St. Valentine’s Day, the day of “LOVE), it may be the most appropriate day to consider an important question—
What do you LOVE—MOST—about GOD?
REALLY!
Consider what you LOVE—MOST about a MOST HOLY GOD.
“And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him to whom we must answer.”
(Hebrews 4: 13 NASB)
Notice, first, how the question is an individual question.
What do “YOU” LOVE MOST—about GOD?
It is NOT—What do “WE” LOVE MOST—about GOD?
There is a huge difference in the usage of this small pronoun—YOU—because while GOD’S LOVE is for all mankind, GOD LOVES you and me—individually & personally & intimately. That’s right.
My relationship with God is mine to love, honor, & cherish. &
Your relationship with God is yours to love, honor, & cherish.
When we each ACCEPT GOD, BELIEVE in JESUS & CONFESS our sins to GOD, then from that moment, the relationship is one of pure intimacy between God & me and between God & you. We become part of the family of God, & You and I become the bride of Christ Jesus our Savior & Lord.
- So often, the world speaks of “love” and the “love languages,” searching for the answer to the question: “Which love language are you?”
- So often, we try to compare the love mankind has for one another with that of God’s love.
- So often, those surrounding us speak aloud: “God loves you,” and those who speak those words are speaking the gospel truth. Let’s never forget the truth—GOD IS LOVE!
Yet, what about us: you & me?
What about your love & my love for God?
A MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION—What do you LOVE MOST about the GOD you serve & who loves you so much?
In the Bible, the writer of Hebrews is unknown, although many believe it was penned under the direction of the Holy Spirit by the Apostle Paul. Within this letter written to the Hebrews, the author speaks of the LOVE of GOD & the reason we are to LOVE GOD SO MUCH. Read with me and be blessed by God’s Holy Word.
“For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
(Hebrews 4: 12-16 NASB)
And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him to whom we must answer.
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let’s hold firmly to our confession.
For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things just as we are, yet without sin.
Therefore let’s approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of our need.”
- This is God’s Amazing Grace!
- This is God’s Intimate Love!
Almighty God sent His Only Son to dwell among us, to be tempted like us, to provide a way to know God for us, yet to remain sinless—unlike us.
- GOD’S LOVE DID THIS FOR US!
- GOD’S LOVE DID THIS FOR YOU!
- GOD’S LOVE DID THIS FOR ME!
Jesus Christ, God’s Only Son, does not “sympathize” with us, metaphorically patting us on the back, speaking words like: “I so sorry you must go through this struggle; it must be horrible to endure. I cannot comprehend exactly what you are going through, but I am here if you need me.”
NO! MY SAVIOR & YOUR SAVIOR IS NOT LIKE THAT—ONE FILLED WITH “SYMPATHY,” BUT INSTEAD, YOUR SAVIOR & MY SAVIOR IS ONE WHO KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT STRUGGLE, TEMPTATION, & LIFE-SITUATION WE ARE ENDURING TODAY!
Jesus Christ, God’s Only Son, and the Savior of the world, “empathizes” with us, holding us tightly as we walk in relationship beside Him. It is within this life-walk with Jesus that we hear Jesus speak words like this: “Child, I know! I AM here! & I will never leave you nor forsake you! & Furthermore, I go to prepare a place for you, for where I am, there you will also be—forevermore!”
Apollo LTD sings a wonderful melody about GOD’S LOVE, one titled “Soul Worth Saving.”
- Listen today and be reminded of GOD’S AMAZING LOVE!
- Listen today and be reminded of what “You”—LOVE MOST—about GOD!
“For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things just as we are, yet without sin.

Therefore let’s approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of our need.”
