JESUS—Who is HE—to You & to Me?
“Heaven and earth shall praise Him,
(Psalm 69: 34-36 NASB)
The seas and everything that moves in them.
For God will save Zion and build the cities of Judah,
So that they may live there and possess it.
The descendants of His servants will inherit it,
And those who love His name will live in it.”
WHO—Is this man named Jesus?!!!
WHO—turned water into wine!
WHO—heals the sick!
WHO—restores the paralyzed!
WHO—feeds the hungry!
WHO—makes the blind to see!
WHO—raises the dead to new life!
WHO—was spoken by prophets of the Old Testament!
WHO—gave Himself to be persecuted & crucified & to be resurrected for all mankind!
WHO—changes us & gives us a new identity & transforms us from the inside out!
WHO—reveals His glory to us day-after-day!
WHO—must be worshipped in Spirit and Truth!
WHO—truly is the Messiah, the Son of Man & the Son of God—the Incarnate!
WHO—Is the Savior, Redeemer, & Lord!
Does heaven and earth praise Jesus today? Did we who were alive on the earth yesterday, praise Jesus yesterday, and will we praise Him as we arise tomorrow? Do the rocks, trees, and animals recognize His majesty? Can we call Him our Father & can we call ourselves His children? Do we love His name more than our own? Do we claim Him as “ours,” and does our identity rest in being His?
Hundreds of years before God sent Jesus to earth as a helpless babe, the prophets spoke of His coming. Even before God sent His only Son, the place—Bethlehem—was named as the place of His birth. Yes, even before Jesus was born and grew and walked the earth, the prophet Isaiah spoke of his crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. So much had been spoken and written about Jesus, that it is amazing to consider how He came to earth and how so many—missed the truth of JESUS—WHO HE IS & WAS & IS TO COME!
Consider for a moment all the events that God worked out for His Son to come to earth as the Savior of the world.
- The Holy Spirit had to come upon Mary and fill her with the babe & give her His name!
- The Holy Spirit had to speak to Joseph and tell him through a dream how the babe Mary carried would be born and save the whole world!
- The leader, Caesar Augustus, had to make a decree commanding every man to return to his city of origin to be counted & to pay a tax, in what was the first census taken by the governor of Syria.
- Joseph had to bring his very-pregnant betrothed to Bethlehem, traveling the 90-mile trip, even though she was about ready to deliver the baby she was carrying.
- God had to speak to over 300 Old Testament prophets, telling them what to write that would help the world recognize the Messiah when He came.
- The city of Bethlehem had to be so crowded with all the people arriving, as they returned to pay their required tax and to be counted.
- The innkeeper had to feel compassion & open his heart & his stable as a resting, birthing place for our Savior.
- The shepherds, who were in the fields attending the sheep, had to see the angel of the Lord & the glory of the Lord shining all around them. These shepherds had to listen, even while they were terrified to what the angel had to say, & they had to leave their fields and their sheep to follow the star to the city of David, to Bethlehem, to find “the one born for you, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2: 8-16 NASB).
- The shepherds had to recognize the babe laying in the stable manger as the promised Messiah of God.
- The wise men of the east had to see the bright star shining & had to follow it to find the child, the Christ
On & On & On, so many events, so many intricate details had to occur for God’s only Son to come to earth to provide salvation for us all.
Almighty God orchestrated so many events, moved so many people to action, spoke to so many people—ALL SO THAT MANKIND COULD COME TO KNOW WHO JESUS WAS & WHO JESUS STILL IS & WHO JESUS WILL ALWAYS BE AS HE AWAITS HIS SECOND COMING!
C. S. Lewis called the Incarnation of Jesus “the central event in the history of the Earth.” Everything in the Scripture points all of history to the birth of the Son of God!
- May we pause and ready our hearts for the joyous celebration of Christmas—JESUS the TRUE REASON for the season!
- May we pause in all of our haste to ready our houses to importantly ready our hearts for the significance of what occurred so many years ago in Bethlehem.
- May we be strengthened in our faith & may our relationship with Jesus become even more deep!
- May we worship Emmanuel—God Who is with us, Who has always been with us & Who will come again to earth on God’s appointed day!
- May we NOT MISS—JESUS—WHO IS THE SAVIOR of the WORLD!
- May we stand & May we testify—JESUS—WHO IS OUR SAVIOR, REDEEMER, & LORD!
- May we study & study & study & pray & pray & pray & obey & obey & obey—the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD—WHO COMPELS US TO LIVE OUR LIVES—TRANSFORMED, AS A LIVING SACRIFICE to the KING of KINGS & LORD of LORDS!
Earlier today, I listened to a most beautiful melody, one I had never heard before today, and I urge you to listen to “Jesus Does” by We The Kingdom. Place your earbuds in your ears. Listen to the words as they describe Jesus the Son of God. Listen and be blessed.
JESUS—Who is HE—to You?
JESUS—Who is HE—to Me?
JESUS—Is HE your Savior & your Lord?
JESUS—Is HE my Savior & my Lord?
JESUS—HE alone is the perfect gift of Christmas & of all time!
It is the truth, Jesus, the Son of God, must only speak for each one of us to know Him in Spirit & Truth!
“Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him in Hebrew, “Rabboni!” (which means, Teacher).”
(John 20: 16 & 27 NASB)
&
Then He said to Thomas, “Place your finger here, and see My hands; and take your hand and put it into My side; and do not continue in disbelief, but be a believer.”
His name is “Jesus!”
His name is “Wonderful Counselor!”
His name is “Mighty God!”
His name is “Eternal Father!”
His name is “Prince of Peace!”
(Isaiah 9: 6)
