Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

You Are to Say—JESUS IS LORD!

There have been many lies that have been spoken—for so many centuries—about the Truth of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead.  Even today, people still claim that there is no way Jesus is the Risen Lord, BUT just because people claim something to be UNTRUE does not make something FALSE! So many spoken lies.

“Nothing/Something” by Pat Barrett & Dante Bowe speaks of the way we must love our neighbors, of the way we must live, and of the way we are to LOVE & SERVE our LORD.

Listen today and be reminded of what God expects of us—His children.

Yesterday, my daughter called me while I was working for two reasons:  She was concerned about me & because She was upset by some women who approached her during her time in the city.  This was the second time women such as these approached her, and bless her heart, this was the second time she was upset by these women and their forwardness in what they proclaimed to be the truth. Lies are Lies are Lies are Lies & Satan is the father of lies.

Just because someone claims to know the truth does not mean that what they claim is the Gospel Truth!

“THE LORD” IS A SYNONYM FOR “JESUS CHRIST!”

YOU ARE TO SAY (the Truth)—”JESUS IS LORD!”

“Now while they [the eleven disciples of Jesus] were on their way, some of the men from the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all that had happened.

And when they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers.

and said, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him while we were asleep.’

And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will appease him and keep you out of trouble.”

And they took the money [the soldiers stationed to guard the tomb of Jesus Christ] and did as they had been instructed;  and this story was wildly spread among the Jews and is to this day.”

(Matthew 28: 11-15 NASB)

My daughter, Sydney, while shopping in Frankfurt, Germany for some hiking pants and other supplies needed, she was approached by some women who claimed, “Mary, the mother of Jesus, is the one people should adore, not Jesus.”

“Mom, they were so well-versed that they caught me off-guard.  I feel like such a failure that I could not recall the Scripture I needed.”

“They did ask me if I attended church, and when I replied, ‘Yes,’ they seemed surprised,” she continued.

“Honey, that’s so good, that you were able to share about your church,” I replied, encouraging her, while I was inwardly thanking God for saving my daughter Sydney.  God led her all the way to Germany and then God led her to a church family who surrounded her, loved her, and encouraged her within her daily walk with the Lord.

In reading the situation Jesus’ eleven disciples faced after His resurrection from the dead, I find myself with these questions (ones that I believe apply to all people):

  • WHO DO WE WORSHIP?
  • WHAT COMMANDS OUR ATTENTION EACH DAY?
  • WHERE ARE WE IN OUR OBEDIENCE TO ALMIGHTY GOD?
  • WHEN GOD SPEAKS THROUGH HIS HOLY SPIRIT, DO WE LISTEN AND OBEY?
  • WHY WOULD WE NOT FOLLOW JESUS WHEN HE GAVE US SO MUCH?
  • HOW CAN SOME DOUBT THE AUTHORITY OF JESUS CHRIST, THE SON of GOD?
  • HOW CAN SOME DOUBT THE TRUTH?

It is true—God does hold His creation accountable!

It is true—God will hold all of humanity accountable in the way they respond to His gift of salvation!

It is true—Jesus will come again one day when we least expect it!

It is true—The Word of God is 100% TRUE!

“THE LORD” IS A SYNONYM FOR “JESUS CHRIST!”

YOU ARE TO SAY (the Truth)—“JESUS IS LORD!”

The apostle Paul spoke of the way we are to turn to God from idols.

  • He spoke how we are to serve the living and true God.
  • Paul wrote his letters to remind us that we are to wait for Jesus, God’s Son who will return to earth from heaven.
  • He continually reminded us how God raised Jesus from the dead so we can come to know Him as LORD.
  • Paul emphatically states that Jesus is our rescue!
  • Paul humbly pleads with those he was sent to speak:  “Jesus who rescues us from the wrath to come.” (1 Thessalonians 1: 10b NASB)

We have so much to rejoice over & to lift our hands in praise for, as we pray, thanking & worshipping our Father God.

“God, we thank You for Your Holy Word! &

We thank You for sending Your Only Son! &

God, we also thank You for surrounding us with other believers, with those brothers and sisters who we will share eternity with in heaven!

We thank You for Your Holy Spirit who guides and leads us through our days!

God, we do humbly thank You for a spiritual heritage, for placing us in a family who taught us about You!

God, we also thank You for the opportunity to bow in prayer, for the open line of communication You give to each of us.

Oh God, we are so thankful for the blessing of our godly parents and for Your blessing, yes, Your gift to us with our children who seek to follow You!

Help us God to turn from our idols and to humbly worship You!

Lead us to be Your disciples, fully committed, fully following wherever You lead!

Jesus, we know You will return, and we ask You God to lead us daily to keep our attention fixed upon Your Son Jesus!

We pray, Father, in Jesus precious name.  Amen.”

As I write these words, a melody by Vineyard Worship plays in my ears.  “You Have Our Yes” speaks of the only way we are to live & of the way we are to Say—“JESUS IS LORD (of me)!” Listen today and be reminded of what God expects of us—His children.

“Lord, You deserve it all.

Lord, You deserve it all.

Lord, You can have it all.”

“You Have Our Yes”

Before His crucifixion, Jesus instructed His disciples on the place they were to meet Him.

Jesus will come again!  JESUS is the ONLY RESCUE from God’s Wrath!

In closing, I leave you with the words of our Savior—Jesus Christ.  Please read the “Great Commission” with me & please Believe—JESUS IS LORD (of All)!

Let us GO & PROCLAIM—“The name of Jesus Christ my Savior, my King & my LORD!”

“But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated to them.

And when they saw Him [after His resurrection from the dead], they worshipped Him;  but some were doubtful.

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

teaching them to follow all that I commanded you;  and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

(Matthew 28: 16-20 NASB)
