We May Not Know, BUT GOD KNOWS!
The phone screen spoke the truth.
The one calling spoke the words aloud as she prepared to make a call.
Call the “love of my life.”
The phone was a smart phone; the call went through.
The “love of her life” answered.
Now, I know that she was calling her husband, and I know she loves him dearly (and I am so thankful she does love him like this). Yet, as I saw her phone screen and heard her words, immediately, my heart was reminded how we love God our Father—the “love of our life.”
How can we know if someone is a Believer, a Christian, a child of God?
- We can know by their LOVE, by their LOVE, by their LOVE.
- We can know because we see them place others before themselves.
- We can know by the fruit we see within their lives.
We cannot know by their Bible t-shirts OR by their church attendance OR by their Bible carried under their arm—BUT
- We CAN KNOW by the way they live out what the Bible speaks.
- We CAN KNOW by the way they care for their brothers and sisters in Christ.
- We CAN KNOW by the way they love the downtrodden, the hurt, and the unliked ones within the world.
- We CAN KNOW by the way they work to share Jesus with those who are lost and dying.
- We CAN KNOW because we can see JESUS alive & living within their words and their actions.
“Beloved, let’s LOVE ONE ANOTHER; for LOVE is FROM GOD, and everyone who LOVES HAS BEEN BORN of GOD and KNOWS GOD.
The one who does not love does not know GOD, BECAUSE GOD IS LOVE.”
(1 John 4: 7-8 NASB 2020)
We may not know what a night may bring, but we know Who brings the rain.
We may not know what a day may bring, but we know Who causes the sun to shine.
We may not know what a season of life may bring, but we know Who makes the breezy wind.
We may not know what a span of time may bring, but we know Who fashions the snowflakes with His hands.
- We live in a world where selfishness is predictable, where people take care of themselves first and then others sometime next.
- We live in a world where racing for it all is far more honored than racing for the ultimate prize of eternity that only God can provide.
- We live in a world where getting ahead is more desirable than getting “saved.”
SO, LET’S NOT BE ‘OF THE WORLD’ BUT PECULIAR TO THE WORLD AS WE LIVE MORE LIKE JESUS & LESS LIKE THE WORLD!
I heard a beautiful melody early this morning as I prepared my luggage to fly home from days shared with those I love. Listen today to this song and be reminded:
WHO LOVES US &
WHO SAVES US FOREVERMORE!
“I believe in miracle-power/
In the wonder-working God/
I’m filled with the Holy Spirit/
He’s working wonders in my heart/
I belong to a loving Father/
I’m a friend of Christ His Son/
When it feels like I won’t make it/
I call on Jesus.”
“Miracle Power” by We The People
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
We may face unbearable struggles today, and we may find life terribly hard.
We may not understand why we are given certain pain we must bear.
We May Not Know,
BUT GOD KNOWS &
GOD IS LOVE—TODAY & FOREVERMORE!
