INTIMACY—A TRULY INDESCRIBABLE & AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL RELATIONSHIP!
This weekend has been one of family gatherings, of a “reunion,” of a “joining together” to share stories, to remember loved ones, to rejoice in new births, to eat good food, to “dress up” in western attire (because we like to have a reunion with a theme), and to play games that bring much laughter. As I enjoyed this “reunion” time, I thought about my great-grandparents who began this family, and I remembered the children brought to their union of marriage. Then, I found myself looking at each individual family represented, at the intimacy each family member shared with another person represented there, and I considered the way INTIMACY TOUCHES OUR LIVES.
The word “Intimacy” oftentimes causes one to immediately consider the relationship a man enjoys with a woman, and a woman with a man; yes, the intimacy provided by God for a husband and wife is truly indescribable. The intimate relationship provided by our heavenly Father for his children Is TRULY INDESCRIBABLE & AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL.
In studying God’s Word, I oftentimes inwardly say, “My, I can hardly believe that God thought to teach me this,” but it is a truth, the Bible contains EVERYTHING MANKIND WILL EVER NEED TO WALK THROUGH LIFE WITH GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT.
“Intimacy”
- This means that the relationship is between two: God & You.
- This means that the relationship is between two: God & Me.
- This means that God is Jealous for my faithfulness.
- This means that God wants each one of us to remain faithful—to Him.
- This means that God speaks directly with each one of us.
- This means that we can share ANYTHING with God & He will still hold onto us, not letting us go—EVER!
- This means that as we struggle, God holds our hand and comforts us.
- This means that when we walk through trials that cause us to stumble and fall, it is God who is there beside us—picking us back up so we can stand again and face the day.
- This means that as we age and our bodies begin to falter and our hair begins to grey, it is God who remains.
- This means that even upon our deathbed, as we prepare for life after death, it is God’s Holy Spirit who will walk us home.
God & You. An Intimate Relationship.
God & Me. An Intimate Relationship.
In studying today I am reminded of the intimacy God desires with us. SEE WITH ME AS WE READ GOD’S HOLY & INFALLIBLE WORD.
“You who have been borne by Me from birth
And have been carried from the womb;
Even to your old age I will be the same,
And even to your graying years I will bear you!
I have done it, and I will carry you;
And I will bear you and I will deliver you.
To whom would you liken Me
And make Me equal and compare Me,
That we would be alike? . . .
Remember this, and be assured;
Recall it to mind, you transgressors.
Remember the former things long past,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is no one like Me.
Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things which have not been done,
Saying, “My purpose will be established,
And I will accomplish all My good pleasure;”
(Isaiah 46: 3b-10)
God—the Father—His thoughts are not like our thoughts; His thoughts are vast; His ways are vast!
Yet, GOD—in all of His Majesty—sent His Only Son so we might come to have a relationship with Almighty God!
It’s as if God stooped down and took hold of our hand, and now leads us to walk through life with Him, & as we walk, God reveals Himself to us, through an intimate relationship that we (God & Me and God & You) Individually Share.
BUT FIRST WE MUST WANT TO KNOW HIM!
BUT FIRST WE MUST DESIRE THIS INTIMACY WITH GOD!
BUT FIRST WE MUST COME TO HIM IN FAITH.
WE—Each One of Us—INDIVIDUALLY—Must Choose to Accept, to Believe, to Confess Jesus Christ as our Savior.
THEN—We—Each One of Us—INDIVIDUALLY—INTIMACY—A TRULY INDESCRIBABLE & AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL RELATIONSHIP WITH ALMIGHTY GOD!
There is a lovely melody titled “Not Forgotten” that is sung by the band Be Amplified & Anaysha Figueroa-Cooper. Within this song, there is a lyric that reminds us how much God truly loves each one of us.
“I have not forgotten you.
I remember everything I promised you.
I won’t; I won’t; I won’t [GOD hasn’t forgotten any one of us].
For I have not forgotten you.”

Nothing takes place within our lives that is outside God’s control. May we find great comfort in this truth. There is purpose; there is a direction for our lives; and there is order in the universe, and the one in TOTAL CONTROL IS ALMIGHTY GOD!
GOD HAS A PLAN—HIS!
GOD HAS PROMISED HE WILL BE FAITHFUL!
GOD HAS!
WE MUST TRUST & WORSHIP—ONLY HIM!
- Let us ponder God’s sovereignty.
- Let us meditate upon His Word.
- Let us testify of the goodness & salvation of God.
- Let us walk within the INTIMACY WE FIND IN HOLY GOD!
- Let us give our EVERYTHING to HIM!
- Let us fully TRUST HIM as WE WALK THROUGH LIFE WITH GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT.
