Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Who Are the People Who Call Themselves—Christians?

Who Are the People Who Call Themselves—Christians?

Christians are normal people who have seen the atrocity of their sin committed against a holy God and who have been led by the Holy Spirit of God to repent, to seek God’s forgiveness for the horribleness of their sin.

Christians are regular everyday people who have realized the truth that their sin nailed Jesus to the cross.

Christians are part of humanity who are called to look at the bad situations that come to people and see how God can use everything to bring good—His Good.

Who Are the People Who Call Themselves—Christians?

Christians are Not Meant to look at the world of hate, the evils and atrocities of Satan, and declare, “Nothing good can come from this.”  No, the exact opposite is true!

Christians are a people who are called to believe that the world did NOT Almost Flood but that God Flooded the Entire World.

Christians are a people who are called to believe that God’s Covenant came AFTER the flood.

Christians are Christ-followers, moms & dads & young adults & grandparents & little boys & girls who Do NOT believe Jesus Almost Died but BELIEVE JESUS DID DIE, that JESUS WILLINGLY GAVE HIS LIFE SO HUMANITY COULD RECEIVE GOD’S FORGIVENESS!

Christians are people like me (and hopefully like you) WHO BELIEVE GOD RESURRECTED JESUS BACK TO LIFE—3 DAYS—AFTER—JESUS WAS PHYSICALLY DEAD!

Who Are the People Who Call Themselves—Christians?

Christians are sinners saved by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Christians are those who have FAITH HOPE, even when the “sky falls,” when the BAD of the world seems so large.

Christians are Believers that Accept, Believe, and Receive the TRUTH that God’s Is Who He Says He Is—the Savior of the World & that Eternity in the Presence of God Is a Magnificent Promise of God!!!

Who Are the People Who Call Themselves—Christians?

Christians are those “people” who know that no matter how painful life might become, God loves us, holds onto us, keeps us securely, and that God will NEVER Let Us Go!

Christians are those “people” who know that God can use ANYTHING, even war, even divorce, even pain, even cancer, even death, even a lost job, even sorrow—for Good.

Christians are those “people” who know that NOW is the time to share love & that LOVE is ONLY FROM GOD!

Christians are those “people” who do NOT look at what was but who LOOK at WHAT IS & Realize that they MUST RESPOND IN ALL SITUATIONS WITH GOD’S LOVE!

Christians are those “people” who know that tragedy and grief can lead complacency to seek revival & that revival can produce unity.

  • C. S. Lewis was a man who did not believe in God.  He identified himself as an atheist.
  • C. S. Lewis set out to PROVE to the world that he was right—that God did not exist.
  • C. S. Lewis proved to himself (during his pursuit) that in Fact—God Does Exist—And—His Name Is Jehovah, the Great I Am!
  • C. S. Lewis was just a man who was once lost, who saw the Light of the world & was a man who was Saved by the blood & forgiveness of sins by the Son of God—Jesus Christ!
  • C. S. Lewis knew what it meant to feel sorrow and loss and despair, who learned through the Word of God what it meant to be SET FREE!

“Do not fear, for I am with you;

Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,

Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

(Isaiah 41: 10)
  • C. S. Lewis once said these words:  “I thought I could . . . make a map of sorrow.
  • Sorrow, however, turns out to be Not a state of being but a process.”
  • The prophet Isaiah knew what it meant to feel sorrow.
  • Isaiah was a Believer who knew what it was to rely upon God.
  • Isaiah was a Believer who knew what it meant to experience the “help” from Almighty God.
  • Isaiah was a Believer who experienced firsthand what it meant for God to hold tightly to his hand as he walked through his sorrowful season of life.
  • Isaiah was a Believer, a Christian, who was just a person who knew what it was to TRUST GOD!
  • Isaiah was a Believer, a follower of God, who knew that loss and despair and suffering could lead to blessing and peace.

The Bible never tells us that God will take away our suffering.

The Word of God never lies!

God’s Holy Word reveals that He—God Himself—Will Be With Us In Our Grief & With Us In Our Sorrow & With Us In Our Times of Trouble.

God’s Word Only Speaks The TRUTH!

Accept It.

Believe It.

Receive It.

Hold Onto the TRUTH of God Today!

Almighty God!

Life is Fragile.  Unpredictable Suffering Comes.  We Need Almighty God!

This morning, in reading over the prayer concerns written upon a list, I counted twenty-five individuals who are currently suffering—25!!!

Truthfully, that number is probably too small if I really stop and read through the list again because even now, Others come to my mind—THOSE INDIVIDUALS—WHO are suffering with loss, THOSE—WHO are grieving, who are dealing with pain, THOSE—WHO are struggling with sin’s power over them, THOSE—WHO are walking in fear, THOSE—WHO are struggling with thoughts of despair & THOSE—WHO are currently walking in lostness apart from the Salvation of God.

Our Grief Can Become a Blessing & God’s Goodness & the Promise of God’s Salvation Others Need to See.

Our Pain & Suffering & the Way God Sustains Us During That Season of Life—This Has GOD-SIZED POWER TO LEAD OTHERS TO SEE HOW JESUS LIVES IN YOU & IN ME!

  • They Are the People Who Walk Through Life—Led By the Holy Spirit of God!
  • They Are the People Who Celebrate Fifty-Two Weeks of Every Year—JESUS Died; JESUS Was Buried;  &  GOD RESURRECTED JESUS BACK TO LIFE!!!!

Who Are the People Who Call Themselves—Christians?

They Are the People (Like Me) Who Raise Their Hands Toward Heaven With Their Palms Open Wide And Exclaim—“Thank You God for Sending Jesus As My Savior & My Redeemer!!!
