Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Who Are We Listening To?

The world is wrong.
Listen, please.

The world IS most definitely WRONG!
The world—IT—IS WRONG!
Maybe we are saying, “Okay, we’ve got it. The world is wrong, but just HOW is the world wrong?”
So glad you asked.
The world speaks like a person—
Whispering, &
Nudging our thoughts, &
Saying aloud,  &
Shouting for all to hear,  & even

Screaming at the top of her lungs these words—-
“You got this, girl.  You are educated, healthy, smart, clear-minded, and independent.  Girl, you are wise.  Trust your gut.  Go with it and listen to the inner-being of yourself.  And girl, you don’t have to worry about being led astray because we don’t need to trust in the wisdom of mankind; we trust in ourselves.”
But, is independence what God wants for each of us?
Does God want us to walk in our own might, standing on our own two legs, powering through the difficulties of the days and struggles of the nights—OR—
Does God want us to bend down on our knees in prayer, standing on the Word of God, powered by His might as we face the difficulties of the days and the struggles of the night?
Could we consider how our lives (the Christian lives) could very well be an extension of Jesus’ earthly life?

Let us ask—What has God placed upon our heart to do?
Why are we hesitant?
What manmade thoughts of the world’s wisdom may we be listening to as we place this heart desire against what our head thinks?
What independent thoughts of our own wisdom may we be listening to as we place this heart desire against what God is whispering to our being through His Holy Spirit?

The world’s wisdom is wrong!!!!

DO NOT LISTEN!

Our own wisdom may just also be wrong too because we have an innate desire to protect ourselves.

TODAY—Do NOT stand in our own might, but KNEEL, AS WE STAND UPON THE PROMISES OF GOD!!!
Do not believe my thoughts but believe God’s Word.
The Apostle Paul wrote,

“And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.
For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.
I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling,
And my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
So that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.”

(1 Corinthians 2: 1-5)

The world’s wisdom is Wrong!
Our wisdom is Wrong!
GOD’S WISDOM IS RIGHT—ALL THE TIME!

Unfortunately we like to know ALL the details of a project BEFORE we say “yes.”
BUT—is that what it means to follow God in faith?
I wonder if Jesus would want us to check what our own heart & wisdom thinks BEFORE we follow Him.
I wonder if Jesus would want us to check what the world’s wisdom says—BEFORE we say (as the prophet Isaiah said), “Here am I, send me.”(Isaiah 6:8)

It is a TRUTH!
We are called to say, “Yes, LORD,” and then step forward in faith, trusting God to work out the details because we know we are to walk by faith, not by sight.
We are called and we do not always have all the details BEFORE we go because then we are trusting ourselves more than we trust God.
An example in the Old Testament, can be seen through Noah who did not even know what a raindrop looked like BEFORE he gathered the materials to build  the ark.  He followed God by faith and not by sight.  He was ridiculed by mankind; yet He followed God anyway.
Then in the New Testament, the disciples of Jesus did not know how they would eat or where they would sleep BEFORE they left everything and followed Him.  They just did—They left everything and followed Him.

I heard a beautiful melody called “Fearless” by Jasmine Murray, and in the song, she sang these lyrics—
“I’m going to be fearless/
I’m going to trust You/
Lead me and I will go.”
Where is God leading you?

Where is God leading me?
Are we standing upon the promises of God—-down upon our knees—praying, “Here am I, please God, send me today!!!”
