Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Let Ourselves Wait…Expectantly

Some of the prettiest people in the world are those gals we know who are expecting, who are pregnant with a child.  Truly the statement: There is no such thing as an “non-pretty” pregnant woman!—-Totally true!!!
Last evening as I sat at the table with Hannah (a beautiful, pregnant woman), I considered her beauty as she carried this child God has given to Jake and her, and I began to wonder……..Have we ever wondered WHY It Is True….A woman, pregnant with child, is absolutely beautiful?!!!

  • Every day (approximately 280 days), she carries around with her more weight than she has ever known.
  • Every week (38-to-42 weeks) she loses her abilities to do things she once did with ease.  Tying her own shoes becomes nearly impossible.
  • Every moment (approximately 403,200 moments), she remains cognizant of this child God has gifted her to conceive, carry, and love.
  • Truly, before she even knows she is expecting a child, her body begins to change, &
  • Never will her body ever be the same again, once this beautiful woman carries her bundle to full term.
  • Forever her focus will now remain upon that child God has given to her this child to love.

The expecting, mother-to-be……Gorgeous.

The young mother of a newborn……Gorgeous.

Expecting.

Hopeful For.

Pregnant Pauses, Moments, Days, Weeks.

Preparing herself for the unknown, the unchartered, and for the love of another that she never knew was possible.

That’s also a definition of God’s Salvation.

In the Bible, the prophet Micah spoke of how God is the source of Salvation when he wrote to encourage those living among great turmoil, even distress within one’s own household.

“But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the LORD;
I will wait for the God of my salvation.
My God will hear me”
(Micah 7:7).

The woman who is pregnant with child…..waits expectantly, realizing that the timing of her delivery lies directly within God’s hands.

The expectant mother-to-be knows she must wait for the perfect moment when God causes her baby to be ready to enter this world.

She fully realizes that everything her baby needs to survive is being created for her small bundle of joy while her little one remains cocooned within her….&…Never would a mother wish for her baby to come before the right time, but just at the precise moment of delivery.

So, she waits…..Expectantly.
So, she waits…..As she anticipates her small one…..Expectantly.
And those around her also become caught in her joy as they too wait…..Expectantly.
We remain hope–filled, wondering when the baby will arrive, watching as the mother changes as time passes.

We remain (beyond) excited to see the way she is transformed into pure gorgeousness as she too awaits the day of the baby’s birth.
This too describes how believers are to walk through our days.  God grants us clarity through His Word exactly how we are to live, showing us how to walk through our moments, days, and weeks as we await our eternity within God’s presence.

In the Bible, Titus, one who knew the apostle Paul, wrote…..

“For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved in various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.
But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
This is a trustworthy statement;…”

(Titus 3: 4-8)

Jesus Christ is God.
Jesus is the Son of God.
Jesus Christ is our Savior & Redeemer.
To know Jesus was fully human, fully man even while He was fully God, fully Divine….This Truth is Absolutely necessary to our salvation.

  • Let ourselves…Not remain caught any longer, enslaved by every wayward thought found in this evil world….but let us be re-born into a newness of life found only in Jesus.
  • Let ourselves…See “the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind”….much like God creates a mother’s love for her unborn child (4).
  • Let ourselves…Know that it is God who saves us (and not anything we can ever do for ourselves)….much as God must place the child inside the mother’s womb.
  • Let ourselves…Receive the mercy of God, the regeneration of His Holy Spirit….much as the expectant mother realizes that God is at work within her, creating a new life.
  • Let ourselves…Not spend another moment, day, or week in darkness,….but let us see the light of Jesus Christ our Savior, realizing that at our second birth, immediately we are “made heirs according to the hope of eternal life” (7).
  • Let ourselves….Believe “This Is A Trustworthy Statement;…” (8).
  • Yes, our very lives depend upon realizing this Truth.
  • Let us Watch Expectantly today as we see what GREAT & MIGHTY DEEDS our LORD will do today &
  • Let us Believe and Live In Expectation, Knowing GOD IS GREAT & HIS GOODNESS IS ALWAYS SO GOOD.
