Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

What To Say….When We Do Not Know What To Say

My daughter encountered two girls while traveling in France.  These two were faithful in their religion, adamant in their misunderstanding, and working hard to help my daughter see “the way & their truth” in what they believed.
“We are just alike.  We believe the same.  You say ‘there is a God.’  ‘We agree’ they said.  You also say ‘there is a heaven and hell.’  ‘We too agree,’ one of the girls said.
This conversation continued for quite some time, back and forth, comparing what they believed and what my daughter knew to be the truth about God.

“We are just alike in what we believe,”  BUT ARE WE….JUST ALIKE IN THE TRUTH ABOUT GOD?!!!!

Just this morning I received three phone calls from my daughter, and fortunately on the third call, I saw and answered her call. (Yes, my husband tells me all the time….’Turn on your ringer.) She was excited to discuss a conversation she had with two young women this morning in France.  Sydney recounted her conversation with these two ladies.
These ladies said they were believers.
They said they believed in God, the Son, and the Spirit.
They also spoke of a second coming, of a second Christ, not Jesus, returning to earth.   They said they did not know His name, but that he was coming.
They also spoke of God being both male and female.
We live today.
We live and speak with others today.

We need to be ready to share Scripture, to share what the Bible says about God, about His Salvation, about the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, and about how the Holy Spirit of God sustains and convicts us of our sins as we walk through life with God.
We need to share the personal relationship we have with Jesus once we accept and receive God’s grace, His gift of Salvation.

The Bible tells us that there will be misguided ones we will encounter during these “last days,” and we have been living within the “last days” since Jesus Christ ascended back to heaven after His resurrection.

“But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.
Many will follow their sensuality and because of them
the way of the truth will be maligned;
And in their greed they will exploit you with false words;  their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep….”
(2 Peter 2: 1-3)
“Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming?’ For ever since the fathers fell asleep [died], all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.”  (2 Peter 3: 3-4)

2 Peter–chapters 2 & 3

Whenever we face—-
Those who are misguided…
Those who know but those who do not REALLY KNOW GOD…
Those who say they believe, but those who do not recall a PERSONAL ENCOUNTER, an acceptance of God’s Salvation, a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with JESUS CHRIST…
Those who say all sorts of things, but those who DO NOT KNOW JESUS CHRIST AS LORD…
When we might not be 100% percent sure how to reply, how to lead them away from their misguided religion to see Jesus as their Savior…..Let the words of Jesus Christ be our compass and our guide.

“Jesus said to him [to Thomas and His disciples], “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (John 14:6)

There is but One Way to God.
JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY. JESUS IS THE ONLY TRUTH, & JESUS IS THE ONLY LIFE.

The only “Way” to Know God is to Know Jesus as Savior.

As we walk throughout this day, let us comfort one another with These Words…..JESUS’ WORDS!!!!

  1. Awesome commentary. Jesus is the only way! Sadly we mislead sometimes when we don’t even know it.
