Thankful LORD, You dwell in us, Always
“Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.”
(The Psalms 90: 1 NASB)
Moses, a man of God, penned these words.
Moses, a man of God, spent one third of his life (40 years) wandering in the wilderness.
Moses, a man of God, wandered with no fixed dwelling place.
You have been our hiding place, Lord Most High, my refuge.
Stability.
Dependability.
Eternal Constancy.
Provided by Almighty God to all who believe and place their faith in Jesus,
God’s only Son.
“Before the mountains were born
(The Psalms 90: 2 NASB)
Or You gave birth to the earth and the world,
Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.”
The other day, we went to cast our vote, early before the election day rush, and just as expected, once I showed my identification, the election worker asked me to voice my address, so I did. Then, I ended by laughingly saying, “That’s in Canada,” to which she smiled and replied, “It says here that you live in Kentucky.” Temporarily, yes, this is where I reside, while I live on earth, but I am heaven bound.
BEFORE ANYTHING—GOD WAS.
BEFORE ANY CREATED, BEAUTIFUL THING—GOD WAS. &
Before the Lord decided to create you or me, GOD EXISTED ETERNALLY—
“everlasting to everlasting, You are God.”
Moses, who loved God, wanted those he knew to comprehend God Himself, who was permanent, unshakable, eternal, and immovable. Moses, the man God appointed to bring The Ten Commandments down from the mountain, wrote to express how you and I can find shelter and refuge in God. This sustaining place contains the power necessary to carry us through this brief life we walk on the face of the earth.
“How lovely are Your dwelling places, O LORD of hosts.”
(The Psalms 84: 1 NASB)
For one who believes and has trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ, for the justified one, this hiding place, this dwelling place, this home, this temple of God resides within us.
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you,
(The First Letter of Paul to the Corinthians 6: 19 NASB)
whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?
For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.”
We are “at home” no matter where we physically reside. We walk with the indwelling Spirit of God, given to each one of us as the conception of our faith. Amazing, right!
“However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit,
(The Letter of Paul to the Romans 8: 9 NASB)
if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.
But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.”
Not only does the Holy Spirit of God reside inside our being, but He also protects, guides, leads, and sustains us, for He is the promised sealing, the pledge of God, given who provides us the eternal promise that one day soon—Jesus will come for us and take us home to heaven, with Him. This is our everlasting HOPE.
“to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you,
(The Letter of Paul to the Colossians 1: 27 NASB)
the hope of glory.”
