Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

You and I only see ruins; the LORD sees redemption

After a conversation, one that spanned two days, because of a six-hour time zone lapse, I awoke to the statement:  “We all create our own solutions.”  While simple, unfortunately the depth of those six simple and true words written in a single sentence remained.  As we consider our lives, how often do we give our burdens to the Lord and then fail to trust Him?  Instead, if our burden were a piece of luggage, we bend over, grab ahold of the handle, and pick it up again to carry.  We take matters in our own hands, forgetting one of God’s amazing promises.

“How blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, . . .”

(The Psalm 40: 4a NASB)

Instead of stressing over circumstances that we cannot control, and rather than carrying heavy loads that burden us, we should recall these simple truths.

  • The LORD never allows His servants to get into situations where they cannot handle with His divine help.
  • The LORD delights in taking a little and making a bountiful harvest for His glory.
  • The LORD will take whatever battles His children are fighting and carry them as we walk alongside Him.

Possibly, the ones who have given their hearts to Jesus are facing a terminal diagnosis, a failed marriage, a wayward child, the loss of a loved one, a lost job, or even a spiritually dark time.  We must recall how God specializes in creating something “new” out of what seems lost, and we must remember how high spiritual days are balanced with dark days.  When we experience life change, we need to not fall apart or trust in our own might but do as the prophet Isaiah has reminded us.  We must trust in the LORD.

“Yet those who wait for the LORD
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.”

(The Book of Isaiah 40: 31 NASB)
  • May we give our burdens to God and see what HE CAN DO!
  • May we place our situations, our circumstances, our struggles in God’s hands.
  • Let us find victory in time spent alone with the LORD:  Prayer, Bible Study and Submission.
  • Let us remember daily how, for the Christian, the most important part of life is the part only God sees, when we are set apart—with HIM.

Where you and I “create our own solutions,” the LORD executes His plans.

Where you and I only see ruins, the LORD sees redemption for God is so good.

He can take whatever is not good and use it for His good.  The Bible says so!

“Look among the nations!
Observe!
Be astonished!  Wonder!
Because I am doing something in your days—
You would not believe if you were told.”

(The Book of Habakkuk 1: 5 NASB)
