Fly Your Kite High
God created everything & remains completely sovereign over His creation. Thus, the Father does not need our help; however, He allows us to walk in obedience, so others will see Him work through and in us. So, Fly Your Kite High, friend of Jesus, Way up in the Clouds.
On a day with a gentle breeze, we pull our kite from the closet, unfurl the string, allowing the wind to grab hold of the lightweight fabric, lifting our kite up high in the sky.
- You are, friend of Jesus, called to Fly Your Kite High.
- Yes, child of God, you have been called to Fly Your Kite Way up in the Clouds.
The Savior Jesus lovingly prepares us for both the ‘ups’ and the ‘downs’ of our time here on earth. He tells us we will experience trials and tribulations and persecutions, but then he encourages us, reminding us how we do not need to be shaken by our trials, tribulations, and persecutions. Therefore, even though you and I cannot see Jesus with our physical eyes, we are tethered to the Him, just as the kite is tethered to the string. Just as we hold our kite string inside our hands, we sense His hand holding us tightly. The Bible speaks of how the wind of trials will blow, causing the kite to move, to toss, to pull taunt against the string. It is then, in the midst of trials, tribulations, and persecutions we feel the tug of His Holy Spirit moving inside us.
We sense the tug on our soul & we know that we know that we know—We Are His.
- HE IS PRESENT WITH US!
- He reminds us how He is the PEACE that fills us, how HE is the PRINCE of PEACE.
- NOTHING IS GREATER THAN JESUS & HIS AMAZING POWER!
So, Fly Your Kite High, friend of Jesus, Way up in the Clouds, for soon—JESUS IS COMING!
- The Bible speaks of a day coming when the nations will gather to recognize the King of kings.
- We read with clarity how knees will bow and mouths will confess Him Lord of lords.
- Make no mistake about it, deny it no longer, turn a blind eye no more—there is a day King Jesus will come again to reign on earth.
So, the question becomes: WHEN?
“Now as to the times and the epochs,
(The 1st Letter of Paul to the Thessalonians 5: 1-6 NAS)
brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you.
For you yourselves know full well
that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night.
While they are saying, “Peace and safety!”
then destruction will come upon them suddenly
like labor pains upon a woman with child,
and they will not escape.
But you, brethren,
are not in darkness,
that the day would overtake you like a thief;
for you are all sons of light and sons of day.
We are not of night nor of darkness;
so then let us not sleep as others do,
but let us be alert and sober.”
There is much to unpack within these few biblical verses.
- We just do not know when the day will come, for the Bible is clear about Jesus’ second coming.
- We do not need additional writing, for Christ Jesus will come when the world least expects it (just as a thief comes into one’s home).
- The Messiah will come when the world seems to be existing in safety and living in peace, & “then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains” TO THOSE NOT READY.
- The children of the LIGHT (those who have been Redeemed), know how they should live during these days of grace because the Bible proclaims the lost will not escape the second coming of Christ.
Therefore, be AWAKE—& do not walk through the days as if sleepwalking.
Thus, be READY—for the LORD will return & descend, just as He has promised. &
Be SELF-CONTROLLED. There are those we know and love who are not ready to meet Jesus.
As God’s children, we have the authority and the ability to live as God commands because we live under God’s protection, God’s control, and God’s grace.
“For the grace of God has appeared,
(The Letter of Paul to Titus 2: 11-15 NAS)
bringing salvation to all men,
instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly,
righteously and godly in the present age,
looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory
of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,
who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed,
and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession,
zealous for good deeds.
These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority.
Let no one disregard you.”
We are His own possession because the Lord paid the cost with His precious blood. The Messiah took our sins and washed them clean, purifying for Himself a people through His sacrificial death on the cross.
JESUS GAVE HIMSELF—HIS LIFE—TO REDEEM US!
So, Fly Your Kite High, Way up in the Clouds.
Glorify Jesus & reflect His good in the world, children of God.
“For thus says the LORD,
(The Book of Isaiah 45: 18-23 NAS)
who created the heavens
(He is the God who formed the earth and made it,
He established it and did not create it a waste place,
But formed it to be inhabited),
“I am the LORD, and there is none else.
I have not spoken in secret,
In some dark land;
I did not say to the offspring of Jacob,
‘Seek Me in a waste place’;
I, the LORD, speak righteousness,
Declaring things that are upright.
Gather yourselves and come;
Draw near together, you fugitives of the nations;
They have no knowledge,
Who carry about their wooden idol
And pray to a god who cannot save.
Declare and set forth your case;
Indeed, let them consult together.
Who has announced this from of old?
Who has long since declared it?
Is it not I, the LORD?
And there is no other God besides Me,
A righteous God and Savior;
There is none except Me.
Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth;
For I am God, and there is no other.
I have sworn by Myself,
The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness
And will not turn back,
That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance.”
