“the LORD God caused to grow. . .”
Last evening was beautiful. After the long drive home, I plopped myself down into one of the comfortable porch chairs and rested my head back against the blue cushion. After a few minutes of resting my eyes, I found myself noticing the “greenness” of the earth.
“You cannot even see the road now,” I said to my porch-mate, my husband, “because the trees have now gained all their leaves.”
Just last week, I could see through the trees, through the forest, to see the roadway.
In just one brief week, the Lord caused growth to occur.
Sitting there, taking in the beauty, I was reminded of a garden, one the LORD planted and grew.
“Out of the ground the LORD God caused to grow
(Genesis 2: 9 NAS)
every tree that is pleasing to the sight and good for food;
the tree of life also in the midst of the garden,
and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”
As I sat there looking closely at the trees, I began to see their beauty.
- Their massive trunks.
- Their plethora of leaves.
- Their habitation for God’s creatures.
- Their long shadows.
- Their gentle motion as God’s wind swayed them back and forth.
- The peace that came to my being as I sat & soaked up their beauty.
“the LORD God caused to grow. . .”
Our heavenly Father grew every tree, pleasing for us to look at and enjoy. The beauty of the earth is essential to God’s purpose of the world, for His beauty reflects God Himself.
&
God’s beauty & what He has created delights us all.
Today, get outside into God’s green earth. Enjoy. Breath in & out His air. Stand underneath His trees, lean back your neck, and look up at their massive gorgeousness. Consider WHO has created and made and grown—EVERYTHING!
“The earth is the LORD’S, and all it contains,
(The Psalms 24: 1 NAS)
The world, and those who dwell in it.”
