ONE DAY WITH JESUS—
When Jude was young, he lived with Jesus. You see, Jude was the half-brother of Jesus; Jude was the biological son of Joseph & Mary. Whereas Jesus was the Son of God who had been placed into the womb of Mary by God’s Holy Spirit.
So, day-after-day, for years, Jude shared life with Jesus; nevertheless, Jude refused to believe IN JESUS as his SAVIOR until AFTER Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. When we consider the depth of this, it can give us pause, making us scratch our heads in wonder, asking: How could someone grow up in the same house as Jesus and not REALLY—
- Know who Jesus was in human flesh?
- Know why Jesus was walking on earth as a man? &
- Not believe in Jesus as his Savior?
In his letter recorded in the historical record of the Bible, the half-brother of Jesus wrote:
“Jude, a bond-servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James,
(The Letter of Jude 1: 1-3 NAS)
To those who are the called,
beloved in God the Father,
and kept for Jesus Christ:
May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you.
Beloved,
while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation,
I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith
which was once for all handed down to the saints.”
- When we pause in the busyness of the day, we will be swept off our feet by Jesus.
- When we sense His presence, this will cause us breathlessness as we think of Jesus.
- As we allow our spiritual eyes to REALLY SEE JESUS’ glorious majesty, we find we are amazed.
- Consider Easter and the depth of truth found within Jesus’ resurrection from the grave.
- FULLY dwell on the truth that we are TRULY SAVED through GOD’S GRACE, receiving the gift given BECAUSE of JESUS’ SACRIFICE on the CROSS.
If we truly trusted God, we would allow Him to lead us in His perfect plan because the Bible says—
“For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh,
(The Letter of Paul to the Romans 8: 5-11 NAS)
but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
For the mind set on the flesh is death,
but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,
because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God;
for it does not subject itself to the law of God,
for it is not even able to do so,
and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit,
if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.
But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.
If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin,
yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you,
He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead
will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
THUS, ONE DAY WITH JESUS—
- Can change the rest of your life.
- Will be the beginning of your commitment.
COULD TOMORROW NOT COME FOR YOU & ME?
- Have we looked at our age and asked: Lord, how many more do I have?
- None of us know, but God knows!
THEREFORE, WHILE WE ARE HERE—
- We are to praise God today for this present day.
- We are to live our today for God because our lives belong to God.
- We are to give our bodies as a living sacrifice & as a worship to the Lord.
BECAUSE ONE DAY WITH JESUS—CHANGED EVERYTHING ABOUT US!
“So then, brethren, we are under obligation,
(The Letter of Paul to the Romans 8: 12-14 NAS)
not to the flesh,
to live according to the flesh—
for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die;
but if by the Spirit you are putting death the deeds of the body,
you will live.
For all who are being led by the Spirt of God,
these are sons of God.”
