HIS Goodness & HIS Love—We Are to Share with others
The Reverend Billy Graham once wrote these words about his Savior Jesus—
“If all the words that have been written about Him [Jesus Christ] were brought together, they would fill a thousand libraries,” and this definitely is a true statement (Graham 187).
The apostle Paul wrote so many words about his Savior Jesus, and within one letter written to believers living in Ephesus, he wrote—
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
(The Letter of Paul to the Ephesians 1: 3 NASB)
who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.”
The poet who lived during the American Romanticism, Elizabeth Barrett Browning penned these words signifying humanity’s reaction to the magnificent presence of Father God—
“Earth’s crammed with heaven,/ And every common bush afire with God;/ But only he who sees, takes off his shoes.”
The apostle Paul wrote to the Christians living in Rome, encouraging them, reminding them about creation’s role in relation to the Creator—
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy
(The Letter of Paul to the Romans 8: 18-19 NASB)
to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God.”
God Himself, our Father—spoke of the difference between the angels & His only begotten Son—
“For to which of the angels did He ever say,
(The Letter to the Hebrews 1: 5-9 NASB)
“YOU ARE MY SON,
TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU”?
And again,
“I WILL BE A FATHER TO HIM
AND HE SHALL BE A SON TO ME”?
And when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says,
“AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM.”
And of the angels He says,
“WHO MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS,
AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE.”
But of the Son He says,
“YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER,
AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM.
YOU HAVE LOVED RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HATED LAWLESSNESS;
THEREFORE GOD, YOUR GOD, AND HAS ANOINTED YOU
WITH THE OIL OF GLADNESS ABOVE YOUR COMPANIONS.”
The Lord Jesus is worshipped by angels and He possesses the eternal throne.
Jesus Christ is a fulfillment of God’s promises.
- Thank You, Father, for laying aside Your glory for a time, for sending Jesus.
- Thank You, Father, for coming to dwell among us, for Jesus—the visible image of the invisible God.
- Thank You, God, for Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross.
- Thank You, heavenly Father, for showing the world how the Lord Jesus Christ became the first begotten from the dead.
- Thank You, Almighty God, for Jesus’ power over death, for shattering forever, death’s claim. YOU have shattered forever, death’s power, for all who believe in Jesus as their Savior.
HIS Goodness & HIS Love—We Are to Share with others
Father, we rejoice that Jesus is the eternal Son of God.
For ultimately, our HOPE is not found here on earth, but in CHRIST!
Sing it. Shout it. Raise up your hands.
We have victory in Jesus!
- May we behold the majesty of Jesus &
- May we respond with a heart full of devotion &
- May we extend grace to others, knowing that in ALL things God is at work for His glory & for our good.
- May we live in dedicated service to our Lord as we serve our brothers and sisters-in-Christ.
- May we be devoted to one another; May we rejoice in hope; May we be devoted in prayer; May we see to the needs of others; May we be hospitable to one another; May we not repay other’s wrong deeds against us with evil toward them, but May we love them as Jesus loves.
- May we live at peace with everyone; May we not seek revenge; May we not gossip; May we seek always for the good of others, lifting them up, encouraging them, supporting them, helping them.
And may we always, just as our Savior Jesus commanded us when He spoke these words—
“You have heard that it was said,
(The Gospel According to Matthew 5: 43-48 NASB)
‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’
“But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven;
for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good,
and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have?
Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others?
Do not even the Gentiles do the same?
Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
