Are We Willing To Let Go…..Completely?
Have we ever attempted to make a way through the sea?
Have we ever attempted to make a path through the mighty, rushing waters?
Have we ever attempted to place a mighty warrior, to lay him down (to rest), directly next to a valiant, enemy soldier?
Have we ever attempted to cut a roadway in the wilderness?
Have we ever attempted to flow a river through the desert?
Why do we call to mind former memories that we should let go?
Why is it so important to not ponder past events (sins committed, maybe even sins we committed BEFORE we believed)…..ones we should let go?
How far is the East from the West?
Could we travel the span of miles from the far East to the far West….in one single day or even….in one single life?
Why do we hang on when we should release?
Why do we look down at our fists and see them clenched, clasped around a memory, a thought, a sinful event, an embarrassment……one that we see as too large for God to forgive……or one we have already asked God to forgive, but one we cannot get past.
Why can’t we let go of the memory; why can’t we forgive ourselves?
Today is a new day.
Today can be a new age.
Today is the day…..We must “let go”…..to “go on”….just as we are.
YES, TO LET GO…………………….To Come Just As We Are…………………..TO LET JESUS LEAD US TO GO ON…..From Here to There, To Go Where HE Wants To Lead Us To Go.
THAT IS WHAT WE MUST DO…..TODAY.
We must do this with the Help of the ONLY ONE who has the omnipotent power to accomplish this feat.
“Do not call to mind the former things,
Despite WHERE we live & Despite WHAT TIME ZONE is ours to live………
Or ponder things of the past.
Behold, I will [God will] do something new,
Now it will spring forth;
Will you not be aware of it?
I will even make a roadway in the wilderness;
Rivers in the desert.
The beasts of the field will glorify Me,
The jackals and the ostriches,
Because I have given waters in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert,
To give drink to My chosen people.
The people whom I formed for Myself
Will declare My praise.”
(Isaiah 18: 18-21)
Today is a new day.
This is the day to proclaim (as the apostle Paul proclaimed these words recorded in the Bible, in God’s Holy Scripture): “It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1).
Yes, most definitely, Today is the fresh new day when we proclaim the same Holy Scripture David recorded when he found himself trapped within his own heart of iniquity (after he had sinned with Bathsheba and then covered up his sin by ordering her husband to be murdered on the battlefield).
We sin…..Against God.
David committed sin…..Against God.
“Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean.
Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Make me to hear joy and gladness,
Let the bones which You have broken rejoice.
Hide Your face from my sins
And blot out all my iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from Your presence
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation
And sustain me with a willing spirit.
Then I will teach transgressors Your ways,
And sinners will be converted [they will turn] to YOU [yes turn toward You,…Almighty God]”
(Psalm 51: 7-13).
Yesterday was the celebration of Pentecost, and today is the second Pentecost, a second day to recall how much God really loves & cares for us. God knew we would need a Helper, a Holy Spirit, a part of Himself, to comfort us and to sustain us, so He gave us His Holy Spirit.
Let us today….LET GO……TO……GO ON.
Let us today forgive ourselves of what we have asked God to forgive us from.
Let us today know Jesus intimately as our Savior. If we have not yet received His salvation from our sins, today is the most beautiful day to ask God to forgive us of our sins.
Yes, most definitely, let us today….LET GO (of whatever we are clinging to)……&
LET US GO ON…….WITH OUR SAVIOR, WITH JESUS, WHO WILL CONTINUALLY WALK CLOSE BESIDE US.
Then, If your today provides you opportunity, please listen to these melodies by artists Jason Crabb—“Just As I Am” & to Charity Gayle—-“Thank You Jesus for the Blood.”
WE MUST LET GO TO GO ON. IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO GOD’S TRUE FREEDOM.
