“The LORD your God is in your midst”
Do you believe that God rejoices in who you are?
OR
Do you believe the voice of the devil?
Do you believe the quiet whisper of the LORD your GOD?
OR
Do you believe the noise of the world or the noise found in social media shouting loudly for all to hear?
Do you believe that salvation is yours in Jesus Christ & that you are a child of God?
OR
Do you believe the lies of the devil?
We are alive in a time when the world and the surrounding noise commands most of our attention, but daily, we need to pause and to be reminded of the simple truth—
God is in our midst!
- As a Christian, the Holy Spirit dwells in us right now.
- As a believer, we have fellowship with Him every moment of every day.
Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself on the cross for us! &
We are His forever!
Nothing can ever take away our salvation found in Him!
The LORD ALMIGHTY GOD has come for us!
We have nothing to fear, for we are God’s child, & He rejoices in us!
There are so many distractions in this world, so many times when our focused attention can drift away from that which DAILY should be our primary focus. Yes, that is correct. Every single morning, we need to wake up, rejoicing and remembering: “The LORD your God is in your midst”
The LORD came upon His prophet Zephaniah, leading him to write these words of remembrance, the LORD knew His children would need.
“The LORD has taken away His judgments against you,
He has cleared away your enemies.
The King of Israel, the LORD,
is in your midst;
You will fear disaster no more.
In that day it will be said to Jerusalem:
“Do not be afraid, O Zion;
Do not let your hands fall limp.
The LORD your God is in your midst
A victorious warrior.
- He will exult over you with joy,
- He will be quiet in His love,
- He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.” (The Book of Zephaniah 3: 15-17 NASB)
Take some time—daily.
Daily—Seek personal moments with Him before the craziness of the day steps in and commands your attention..
- Find space & dwell there—daily.
- Find respite & remain there—daily.
“The LORD your God is in your midst”
His Holy Spirit dwells there, inside you.
There is no where you can ever go where He is not present. The Bible says so!
“Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
- If I ascend to heaven, You are there;
- If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.
- If I take the wings of the dawn,
- If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,
Even there Your hand will lead me,
And Your right hand will lay hold of me.” (The Psalms 139: 7-10 NASB)
As God’s child, no longer—ever—are you separated from God, for you are a believer in Jesus Christ. He is with us—His Presence & His Spirit. As God’s children, our faith is founded on God’s nearness. THIS IS THE CORE OF OUR HOPE!
His Holy Spirit dwells there, inside you.
There is no where you can ever go where He is not present. The Bible says so!
“Do you not know that you are a temple of God
(The 1st Letter of Paul to the Corinthians 3: 16-17 NASB)
and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
If any man destroys the temple of God,
God will destroy him,
for the temple of God is holy,
and that is what you are.”
Wake up every day and remind yourself of this basic truth.
Maybe even speak the words aloud—
“I am dead to sin & alive to God through Jesus Christ. God’s grace through my faith in Christ has saved my soul forevermore. Nothing can ever separate me from the love of God. I am His and He is mine. Thank You, God, for sending Your only Son to die in my place on the cross, for conquering the grave so I can come to know You. Thank You, LORD, for raising Jesus to new life so I can live in eternity with You.”
Believers are saved by Grace through faith.
Then comes dependence on the LORD as we live, not on ourselves.
The soul is saved & everything else, all the works of the flesh, are burned up by fire.
The soul is saved & all works God has prepared in advance for us to do—remain.
- Daily, we are led by the Holy Spirit.
- Daily, we are to preach the Bible.
- Daily, we are to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who surround us.
- Daily, we are to share the gospel.
- Daily, we are to stay on-mission.
WHY? The Bible says so!
“But you did not learn Christ in this way,
[through dark & callous, unholy living]
if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him,
just as truth is in Jesus,
that, in reference to your former manner of life
you lay aside the old self,
which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,
- and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
- and put on the new self,
which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
Therefore, laying aside falsehood,
SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOR,
for we are member of one another.
BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN;
do not let the sun go down on your anger,
and do not give the devil an opportunity.” (The Letter of Paul to the Ephesians 4: 20-27 NASB)
The LORD—“A victorious warrior.”
GOD—”He will exult over you with joy,”
JEHOVAH GOD—“He will be quiet in His love,”
Almighty GOD—“He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.”
- Do you believe that God rejoices in who you are?
- Do you believe the quiet whisper of the LORD your GOD?
- Do you believe that salvation is yours in Jesus Christ & that you are a child of God?
Child of God, live out loud your faith, for God has placed His victory inside you. One day soon, you will meet Him face-to-face. REJOICE, the LORD’S HOLY SPIRIT DWELLS WITHIN YOU!
