A walk through life toward eternity

Jesus Himself Shows Us How to Walk in Steadfast Obedience to the LORD

“The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of disciples.
That I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word.
He awakens Me morning by morning,
He awakes My ear to listen as a disciple.”

(The Book of Isaiah 50: 4 NASB)

The cartoon character Snoopy remains a highly-recognizable figure in this world, so when a particular Instagram post featured Snoopy bundled up wearing his toboggan, coat, gloves, and wearing his tiny backpack as he walked upright across the snow—

WELL, I PAUSED TO SLOWLY READ THIS POST, ONE THAT SPOKE OF FAITH IN GOD.

“FAITH TELLS ME THAT NO MATTER WHAT LIES AHEAD OF ME,

GOD IS ALREADY THERE.

THANK YOU, GOD, FOR THE NEW YEAR 2025.”

God’s prophet Isaiah spoke of positioning our body to be ready to hear & to obey God.  Pause to read with me some of the bodily positions the prophet mentioned, and as we read, let us ask ourselves two timely questions:

Do I totally depend upon Jesus for my every need?

&

Am I following Jesus Himself who shows me how to walk in steadfast obedience to the LORD?

Yes, in 2025, the LORD may give us MORE than we can handle, & in this new year, GOD may ask us to walk away from something, so that HE can reveal something new.

As we step into the newness of this year, let us hear from the LORD & let us be ready to obey.

  • May we have a posture of willingness.
  • May we attune our hearts to the Holy Spirit’s leading.
  • May we listen to God’s voice. &
  • May we follow Jesus, our Savior, who shows us how to walk in steadfast obedience to the LORD.

Let us consider our earthly bodies & these all-important positions of obedience.

Our Tongue—

“The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of disciples,
That I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. . . .”

(The Book of Isaiah 50: 4a NASB)

Our Ear—

“He awakens Me morning by morning,
He awakes My ear to listen as a disciple.
The Lord GOD has opened My ear;
And I was not disobedient
Nor did I turn back.”

(The Book of Isaiah 50: 4b-5 NASB)

Our Back & Head & Face—

“I gave My back to those who strike Me,
And My cheeks to those who pluck out the beard;
I did not cover My face from humiliation and spitting.
For the Lord GOD helps Me,
Therefore, I am not disgraced;
Therefore, I have set My face like flint,
And I know that I will not be ashamed.”

(The Book of Isaiah 50: 6-7 NASB)

Our Legs—

“He who vindicates Me is near;
Who will contend with Me?
Let us stand up to each other;
Who has a case against Me?
Let him draw near to Me.”

(The Book of Isaiah 50: 8 NASB)

Our Whole Person—

“Who is among you that fears the LORD,
That obeys the voice of His servant,
That walks in darkness and has no light?
Let him trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God.

Behold, all you who kindle a fire,
Who encircle yourselves with firebrands,
Walk in the light of your fire
And among the brands you have set ablaze.
This you will have from My hand:
You will lie down in torment.

Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness,
Who seek the LORD:

Look to the rock from which you were hewn
And to the quarry from which you were dug.”

(The Book of Isaiah 50: 10-11 & 51: 1 NASB)

Who knows where the LORD will lead us?  &

Who knows how HE will use us in 2025?

  • May we seek Jesus & Rely fully on Him—
  • May we totally depend on Jesus & Follow His Way of Obedience to the FATHER—
  • May we walk in faith & Know with assurance that no matter what lies ahead—

GOD IS ALREADY THERE!

“But since we are of the day,
[Since we have accepted Jesus as our Savior & Lord]
let us be sober,
having put on the breastplate of faith and love,
and as a helmet,
the hope of salvation.
For God has not destined us for wrath,
but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
who died for us,

so that whether we are awake or asleep,
[Whether we live or whether we die]
we will live together with Him.
[It is a Promise of GOD]

Therefore encourage one another and build up one another,
just as you also are doing.”

(The 1st Letter of Paul to the Thessalonians 5: 8-11 NASB)
