Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

What a Blessing!

Many will say:  “Hang around long enough and history will repeat itself.”

Bible scholars proclaim:  “Scripture teaches us over and over again the same truths proving Scripture is repetitive of the truths God would have us know.”

  • Could it be that quite possibly we (the human race) are just people doomed to walk the same path, one our ancestors walked in the past.  &
  • Could it also be that quite possibly we (the ones God created) are just people who forget past teachings and must be re-taught & re-taught & . . . ?

Today, during my time studying God’s Word, I found myself being reminded of a PROMISE of GOD, one that our Father has shown us over and over throughout His Word.  Nonetheless, in the next few lines, it will be good for us to be reminded of one of God’s Beautiful Promises.

“Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
To the church of God which is at Corinth with all the saints who are throughout Achaia:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our affliction
so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance,
so also our comfort is abundant through Christ.
But if we are afflicted,
it is for your comfort and salvation;
or if we are comforted,
it is for your comfort,

which is effective in the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer;
and our hope for you is firmly grounded,
knowing that as you are sharers of our sufferings,
so also you are sharers of our comfort.”

(The Second Letter of Paul to the Corinthians 1: 1-7 NASB)
  • Did we catch the Promise of God the servant Paul recorded in his letter to the saints who were suffering in the city Corinth?
  • Did we see how we are able to help others who are suffering ONLY BECAUSE we have been helped during our own suffering?
  • Did we notice within God’s Word how COMFORT Truly Is Reciprocal? !

Mind-blowing—Right? !!!

What a Beautiful Blessing God Promises Us!

“if we are afflicted,

it is for your comfort and salvation; . . .”

&

“if we are comforted,

it is for your comfort, . . .”

God does not allow us to walk through sufferings alone; no, Jesus is always with us!

&

God always uses our sufferings to teach us more about His Goodness!

& our Father does this on purpose because

God wants us to minister to others (today & in the future), to comfort them—Just as He comforted us in our sufferings (those sufferings that occurred in our past).

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the
Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our affliction

so that
we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction
with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

(The Second Letter of Paul to the Corinthians 1: 3-4 NASB)

To help us see how God has NEVER changed since the foundation of time, it is important for us to read what the psalmist recorded within the Old Testament.  In reading about the past blessings of the LORD, then we are able to correlate the LORD’S blessings found within the New Testament.

  • As we do, we will see history will repeat itself.
  • As we do, we also see how Scripture teaches us the same truths throughout God’s Word,  proving Scripture is repetitive of the truths God would have us know.

Therefore, if we are slow learners and miss God’s teachings early in our lives, may we not miss them when they come around again to us in our later years.  Thank You, God, for sharing Your wisdom with us—again & again & again & again & . . .

What a Blessing!

“My tears have been my food day and night,
While they say to me all day long,
“Where is your God?”
. . .
“With the voice of joy and thanksgiving,
a multitude keeping festival.
Why are you in despair, O my soul?
And why have you become disturbed within me?

Hope in God,
for I shall again praise Him
For the help of His presence.”

. . .
“The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime;
And His song will be with me in the night,
A prayer to the God of my life.”
. . .
“Why are you in despair, O my soul?
And why have you become disturbed within me?

Hope in God,
for I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.”

(The Psalms 42: 3 & 4b-5 & 8 & 11 NASB)
