Are we WORSHIPPING GOD as if we would go home today?
WORSHIP IS A NATURAL RESPONSE TO A RECOGNITION OF GOD’S PRESENCE WITH US.
- How do we focus our minds, our beings, our person—to fully worship God?
- How has God proven Himself to be mighty in our lives & in the lives of those we know?
- How has our faith grown in the time we have walked with our Savior?
- How could our faith grow even more—in our days to come?
What have we focused our minds upon these days?
Do we find ourselves wishing to know more what this world has to offer?
OR
- Do we long for our home?
- Do we really want to go home—today?
- Do we hope to see Jesus come for us before this day comes to an end?
Last evening in our small group time, we were studying 1st Peter (the end of chapter 1 and the beginning of chapter 2). We were discussing how God’s children were a royal priesthood, carefully chosen people. Naturally, our conversation turned toward that solitary word “chosen,” and from there we walked toward “predestined” & “foreknowledge.”
- How much does God really know?
- How does our freewill play into all this?
- Does He already know what will occur this day?
- Does He know who we will encounter today?
- Has God already divinely orchestrated the Gospel conversations He would have us speak today?
- Has God already predetermined our coming home day?
THE BIBLE SAYS THE FATHER HAS.
- Are we WORSHIPPING GOD as if we would go home today?
- Are we SEEKING GOD, to know HIM as we should?
We are to seek only those things that are above us, those things of Christ. Yes, we are to be honed in on heaven, to be so focused upon the place where we are going, that we are leaning in toward Him more and more, and with our minds clearly-sighted, longing for that which only God can bring. So, we ask:
- Does He already know what will occur this day? &
- Has our faith grown in the time we have walked with our Savior here on earth? &
- How could our faith grow even more?
- Has God predetermined TODAY as our coming home day?
We may never know this side of heaven.
Thus,
We must be ready to go HOME to HEAVEN at all moments.
May we be ever-focused on WORSHIPPING OUR SAVIOR!
