God Longs for Us to Live a Lifestyle of Love Based on Obedience to Him
Math and English do not always cohabitate. No, most times, these two exist within separate camps. However, there are certain situations where ‘Math’ + ‘English’ = A Profound Resolution. Truly, it is a simple equation.
Five years ago, the Lord led me to walk away from an institution I dearly loved; most definitely, my goal was to end my teaching career there, BUT GOD had other plans. A simple question voiced in passing planted a seed, followed by the same simple question voiced again in passing watered that tiny seed. The third asking (of the simple question) led me to my knees, asking God “Why.”
- We “who believe in the name of the Son of God” are promised by God Himself that we “have eternal life.”
- We “who believe in the name of the Son of God” have permission by the Lord Himself “that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”
- We “who believe in the name of the Son of God” received a promise, given by the Father Himself, who hears our lifted prayers, “according to His will,” and “we have the requests which we have asked from Him.”
Thus, as I began to pray, things on my list just did not seem to add up to a sufficient reason for leaving one teaching assignment for another. Nonetheless, God knew what He was asking me to do; He knew this would be a faith step, and I believe that’s why He sent Perry into my life. Her wisdom guided my head to begin to follow my heart. One step of faith, led to a second step.
1+1 = 2
However, two stepping together: the institution I loved & the institution that I barely knew + the Holy Spirit & me = a step of faith,
with the leadership of the Holy Word of God & Prayer & God the Father & God the Holy Spirit & Jesus the Son of God.
2+2 Really Does Equal = 5
Yes, even though Math and English do not always cohabitate, sometimes they truly do.
- Let us Teach wherever God sends.
- Let us Preach to whomever God places in our path.
- Let us Love others as Jesus.
- Let us Testify, sharing our testimony, telling others how Jesus changed our heart.
- Let us Desire only the Father’s will.
- Let us Glorify God in all we say & do—365 Days a Year.
God Longs for Us to Live a Lifestyle of Love Based on Obedience to Him.
- The love of God is REAL and a powerful TRANSFORMING LOVE!
- The love of God SHAPES us & MAKES us & MOLDS us into the people who LIVE FOR HIM!
TRULY, GOD STILL ANSWERS PRAYER!
So, we strive to live, longing for our eternity as a people who obey God’s Perfect Will.
By the way, I find it quite ironic how for the last few years:
- since leaving the institution I dearly love,
- since leaving the one where I knew everyone,
- since coming to an institution where I am challenged in every way &
- since coming to a place where I knew just a name or two—
the Lord placed my desk, not on the second floor, where all the English instructors are located, but on the third floor, where all the Math & Science instructors are located.
With Thanksgiving we proclaim: “The Joy of the Lord is our Strength!”
A simple equation: ‘Math’ + ‘English’ = A Profound Resolution.
