Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

In the Season of Waiting, Trust God

“The king is not saved by a mighty army;
A warrior is not delivered by great strength.
A horse is a false hope for victory;
Nor does it deliver anyone by its great strength.”

(The Psalms 33: 16-17 NASB)
  • Maybe you have had a trying week of days filled with struggles.
  • Maybe you have experienced disappointment and heart-wrenching inner pain.
  • Maybe, like me, you have come to notice your own inner weariness.
  • Maybe you look toward the future and have even wondered How, Lord & When, Lord?
  • Maybe, like me, you have gazed in the mirror, saw your reflection, relied on your own strength—and then failed.
  • May we who believe remember the Truth—THE KING IS ON HIS WAY!

GOD IS FAITHFUL!

GOD WILL KEEP HIS PROMISES!

In the Season of Waiting, May We Always Trust God!

The psalmist who penned Psalm 33 must have walked in a personal relationship with God, for he began his psalm with joyful singing, giving thanks, and praises “the lovingkindness of the LORD” (verse 5b).  As he praised the LORD, he recalled the way the LORD had created all things and how GOD did so by merely speaking it into existence.  This writer notices the way the Creator fashions His plans, how “He frustrates the plans of the peoples” (verse 10b).  The psalmist also realizes how the nation who aligns itself will stand, and the nation who does not, will perish, for:

“The LORD looks from heaven;
He sees all the sons of men;
From His dwelling place He looks out

On all the inhabitants of the earth,
He who fashions the hearts of them all,
He who understands all their works.”

(The Psalms 33: 13-15 NASB)

So, in response to the teaching of this psalm, whenever the weight of the world presses down upon our shoulders, may we stand erect, pull back our shoulders, lean back our head, lift up our arms, and praise the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY for HIS AMAZING GRACE!

  • While we work—
  • While we wait—
  • While we pray—
  • While we rejoice—
  • While we cry—

When we lay down from physical weariness & Even as we continually praise our LORD—

Let us recall GOD’S PROMISES!

Never forget the truth of the Gospel message.

“Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope for His lovingkindness,
To deliver their soul from death
And to keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waits for the LORD;
He is our help and our shield.
For our heart rejoices in Him,
Because we trust in His holy name.
Let Your lovingkindness, O LORD, be upon us,
According as we have hoped in You.”

(The Psalms 33: 18-22 NASB)
