Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

In EVERYTHING—

“But Moses said to the people,
“Do not fear!
Stand by and see the salvation of the LORD which He will accomplish for you today;
for the Egyptians whom you have seen today,
you will never see them again
forever.
The LORD will fight for you
while you keep silent.”

(Exodus 14: 13-14 NASB)

God is Good.

God is Faithful.

God is God & He will be honored.

What does He require of us?

  • Our faithfulness.
  • Our obedience.
  • Our worship.
  • Our trust in Him.

Moses did not want the children of Israel to miss what God was about to do.

Moses was bold in his faith, and Moses demonstrated his faith through his obedience.

“see the salvation of the LORD which He will accomplish for you today; . . .”

Everything we do—

The reason we were created—

  • We—who believe in Jesus, who have been saved—Are to bring glory and honor to God.
  • We—who accept God’s gift of salvation, who are redeemed—Are bond-servants of Christ.

We are to do God’s will.

We have no excuse for disobedience.

Brothers & sisters-in-Christ, the world is watching us, leaning forward, desiring to see Jesus through us.

Truly, this is serious business we are called to do, this service to King Jesus, the KING of kings.

“Slaves, be obedient to those who are your masters,
according to the flesh, with fear and trembling,
in the sincerity of your heart,
as to Christ;
not by way of eyeservice, as men-pleasers,
but as slaves of Christ,
doing the will of God from the heart.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Ephesians 6: 5-7 NASB)

Everything we do—

The reason we were created—

We are to bring glory and honor to God.

Yesterday, the LORD led me to an on-going, long-lasting conversation.  Back and forth we texted.  I acknowledged the will of God for all to be saved.  She leaned on philosophers, stating how the Bible was not to be taken literal but was open to many interpretations.

As we spoke, my heart became sad.  “How, Lord, can I help her see,” I asked in my heart.  The Holy Spirit led me back to The Gospel According to John, chapter 3.

Jesus spoke to the man who was a Pharisee, a man who came seeking Jesus under the cover of night, afraid that those who he associated with in the day would not approve.  Jesus said—

“Do not be amazed that I said to you,
‘You must be born again.’
“The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it,
but do not know where it comes from and where it is going;
so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

Nicodemus said to Him,
“How can these things be?”
. . .

[Jesus said]
“If I told you earthly things and you do not believe,
how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
No one has ascended into heaven,
but He who descended from heaven:  the Son of Man.”

(The Gospel According to John 3: 7-9 & 12-13 NASB)

Then, in her last response, in her final text, still her eyes remained unseeing, saying the Pharisee who came still had doubt.  Truly, she did not see the WHOLE TRUTH but only what she wished to see.

My heart remained sad the rest of the day and into the night.

  • The LORD allows for the divine conversations we are given each day.
  • The LORD’S HOLY SPIRIT provides the words we need to say.

In His Same Divine Authority—

  • The LORD allows for the earthly authority we have over us.
  • Yes, let us realize—the LORD allows for it!

The LORD we serve & the LORD we obeyit is HE, the LORD who sees everything we do!

  • Cling to the eternal hope you have in Christ Jesus.
  • Bring glory and honor to God in EVERYTHING.
