Darkness surrounds us.  Evil exists.  The deeds of the night are ever present.

But there’s good news!

We do not have to walk in it!

We have seen “the Light of the world; . . .”

We know his name—Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God!

Clearly, there is so much that I do not claim to know.

For example, I do not understand how the water in the lake is purified, so that when I turn on my faucet to draw a glass of water, I am able to drink freely and not become infected by contaminated water.

Furthermore, I do not understand how the engine of my Subaru works, so that when I attempt to turn over the motor, my Subaru purrs to life and then carries me wherever my body desires to go.

Finally, I do not understand how the electricity runs on tiny wires my husband ran through the walls of our new home nineteen years ago, so that when I turn on the table lamp each early morning to illuminate the living room, suddenly light permeates the room, eliminating the darkness.

Yes, truly, there is so much that I do not claim to know.

In reading the Bible, I will be the first to admit, there are just certain things I do not fully understand; however, one day soon, God promises to reveal all things to you & me once we arrive to our eternal home—heaven.

I have read the final chapters, and I know how everything ends—Father God defeats Satan!

Clearly, ALL that a person ever needs to know is whether—his name is “written in the Lamb’s book of life.” (The Revelation to John 21: 27b NASB)

This morning, I found myself reading The Revelation to John, particularly the final two chapters.  Let me first say, I am not a theologian, but I am a Christian & one who strives daily to continually be taught by the Word of God.  Therefore, as I found myself reading again today, I considered how every person alive has An Open Invitation to share eternity with God—received only through the shed blood of God’s Son Jesus Christ.

With this GOSPEL TRUTH firmly planted in people’s minds, may we consider WHO will be present in The New Jerusalem & those things that will no longer be needed.

First, may we consider those things that will no longer be needed.

• No Set Place for Worship—“for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.” (The Revelation to John 21: 22b NASB)
• No Other Light Necessary “for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.” (The Revelation to John 21: 23b NASB)
• No Darkness, EVER!—“In the daytime (for there will be no night there) . . .” (The Revelation to John 21: 25a NASB)
• No Sunlight Required—“And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, . . .” (The Revelation to John 22: 5a NASB)
• No Need for a Locked Gate—“(for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed;” (The Revelation to John 21: 25b NASB)
• No Unclean Person—“and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, . . .” (The Revelation to John 21: 27a NASB)
• No Longer Any Curse of Sin—“There will no longer be any curse; . . .” (The Revelation to John 22: 3a NASB)

Hallelujah, may we consider WHO will be present in The New Jerusalem!

JESUS CHRIST, the LAMB of GOD!

HE WILL BE THERE!

& there also with HIM—

• Those Who Have Given Their Hearts to Jesus—“but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” (The Revelation to John 21: 27b NASB)
• The River of Life—“Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal,” (The Revelation to John 22: 1 NASB)
• The Tree of Life, bearing its Fruit—“coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street.  On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” (The Revelation to John 22:1b-2 NASB)
• The Majestic Throne of Almighty God—“and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, . . .” (The Revelation to John 22: 3b NASB)
• Those who have been redeemed by God—“and His bond-servants will serve Him; they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.” (The Revelation to John 22: 3b-4 NASB)
• The Lord God the Almighty!—“because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever.” (The Revelation to John 22: 5b NASB)
