Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Some Will……

Some will……Be called to bury their child this year (and maybe they already have been) to bury a child who may suffer from a terrible disease.
Some will…..Be mothers to a grown child, one who lives so far away, and though they may often share facetime with their child, today is different. On this mother’s day, the child shares the special day (in-person) with them.
Some will…..Remain estranged from their child and have for a long time.  Some have not spoken in such a long time.
Some will…..Chose to give away their baby in adoption (and maybe already have), and though the decision was the right choice, still these mothers wonder, “What if…”.
Some will…..Share wonderful relationships with their child, but the vastness of the earth and the child’s life career keeps them separated today from their child.
Some will…..Still desire a baby, one to call their own, but yet, they remain childless.
Some will…..Know a child, sense the child’s presence within their being, but now the child no longer exists, and the abortion haunts them daily.
Some will…..Foster a homeless child, maybe several in fact, loving each child while they can and speaking goodness over each child’s life, while there is still time within their foster home.
Some will…..Be mothers to a grown child, and they will recognize the beauty found in this child, one gifted to them from God, a child so special to their heart, (a foreign exchange daughter) one they wish to hug, but distance and border restrictions keep them separated.
Some will…..Have waited years (even decades) for a child, and now today, they will hold onto a child promised to them by God.
Some will…..Carry life within them today, and they will know the miracle that moves, excitedly and fearfully inside them as they await their delivery day and all that this event will bring.
Some will…..Be grown adults who will grieve their mother’s passing this year; they will know their mom awaits their future arrival in eternity.
Some will….Carry a burden today as they await a future spouse and baby to call their own, and they will question why God is so slow in answering their request.
Most assuredly…….Motherhood touches ALL of us in a myriad of ways.
While today is a joyous celebration as we celebrate our mothers, there are so many who will arise today with dread and just wish to pass through this day quickly.
For so many, they will struggle with church attendance on this day, a time when the someone will announce, “All mothers please stand,” and when the mothers stand across the sanctuary and the congregation claps showing their appreciation, there will be some who will be unable to stand because they have not yet been blessed with the precious gift of a child all their own to love.
TODAY—MOTHER’S DAY—-will be met with so many emotions.

In the world, humanity means well, even though the question voiced,—-“Do you have children?”—-hurts for so many reasons.
Most definitely, today’s special calendar occasion will be faced in a myriad of ways, and God takes care of His creation in every situation.   Even while hanging upon His cross, near death, God’s Son knew His earthly mother would suffer as she watched Him be crucified upon the cross.  Jesus loved Mary (his earthly mother)  &    Jesus knew Mary would stand there, heavy-hearted, as she watched Him die for the sins of the world.
Yes, Jesus knew His earthly mother would need someone to care for her once He had ascended to heaven, so in His ultimate wisdom, He spoke from the cross.
“But standing there by the cross of Jesus were his mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.
When Jesus then saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother,
“Woman, behold your son!”
Then He said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!”  From that hour the disciple took her into his own household” (John 19: 25-27).

Truly…….Motherhood can be shared with others in so many ways.

So, let us today…..(on this day that touches all humanity)…..wrap our arms and our minds around each person’s unique situation,   &

Let us be ever-mindful of each lady we speak with today.  They will be experiencing a host of emotions as they walk through this one day.
And so, in whatever state these precious women find themselves walking within today,…….

Let us comfort them as Jesus taught us in His Word,  &

Let us reassure them with God’s word from Psalms——-“He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you may seek refuge;  His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark” (Psalm 91:4).

May we be aware of what “Some will” face today.
