“And Jesus answered saying to them, “Have faith in God.”
“And Jesus answered saying to them, “Have faith in God.
(The Gospel According to Mark 11: 22-24 NASB)
Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.
Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.”
I was talking with a young teacher who was experiencing difficult days in her classroom, primarily due to the situation caused by two certain male students with emotional concerns. As we talked, it was apparent that certain classroom days were tougher than others. On a day when one of the two boys were absent, then the remaining student still struggled to control his emotional outbursts, but his peers were not bothered by him and were able to continue with their classwork.
However, on other days when both boys were present, then when one student experienced an emotional outburst, then rather than ignoring and continuing to work, the other student reacted, which caused a reaction from the other boy. A regular ‘ping pong’ frustration began from that moment forward, disrupting the teacher’s lesson and the class’ learning.
What could be done?
- Separation of the boys. That has been accomplished.
- Frustration by the teacher. That has also occurred.
- Strategic instructor guidance. Yes, that also has been happening.
- Parental meetings. Yes, but they have not been so helpful.
In our conversation together, it was easy to see the strain on her face after a long and intense school day. As a believer, I knew the Power, the Source we needed to turn to—the only One who was able to change the situation, to move the mountain—JESUS CHRIST!
So, I asked her if I could begin praying. I also asked for the boys’ names so that I could write down their names in my prayer journal, so that I could begin to specifically pray for them, individually. Finally, I shared with her the passage from the Gospel of Mark to encourage her, to share with her Jesus’ words, and to remind her of the ALMIGHTY POWER of GOD!
Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh of mankind, who was sent to Redeem you and me, said,
“Have faith in God.
