A walk through life toward eternity

AMAZING LOVE!

  • February 14th
  • Happy Birthday, Fonnie.
  • Happy Valentine’s Day.

Amazingly, today, 14 February 2024, happens to also be Ash Wednesday, one of the most holy days in the Christian faith.  Today marks the beginning of Lent, a time of focus, of fasting, of prayer, of renewal as the Christian walks forward, seeing in the distance the most-important of days—the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead—EASTER!

“We love, because He first loved us.
If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar;

for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen,
cannot love God whom he has not seen.
And this commandment we have from Him,

that the one who loves God should love his brother also.”

(The First Letter of John 4: 19-21 NASB)

AMAZING LOVE!

When we look around the world, around our workplace, around our neighborhood, around our family—who do we see that we need to LOVE MORE?

  • If we say we have LOVE, BUT then if we turn our back on our brother or sister’s need, do we really have LOVE?
  • If we say we have received GOD’S AMAZING GRACE, BUT then if we turn a blind eye upon the struggling brother or sister who we know needs us, do we really have LOVE?
  • If we say we love God with our everything, BUT then we do nothing to help our brother or sister who needs a listening ear, a helping hand, a ride to an appointment, a kneeling on our knees as we lift them up in prayer, or even a monetary offering to help ease their burden, do we really have LOVE?

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God;
and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.”

(The First Letter of John 4: 7 NASB)

Consider ALL the love a Christ-follower, a believer, a child of God, a Christian has to give:

  • Love that laughs together over the happy moments of life & shares life & shares life & shares life & shares life & shares life & shares life & shares life & . . .
  • Love that waits patiently for God’s timing & waits & waits & waits & waits & waits & waits & waits & . . .
  • Love that forgives another & forgives & forgives & forgives & forgives & forgives & forgives & forgives & . . .
  • Love that reaches out with the hands of Jesus & reaches & reaches & reaches & reaches & reaches & reaches & reaches & . . .
  • Love that walks to help others being the feet of Jesus & walks & walks & walks & walks & walks & walks & walks & . . .
  • Love that opens his wallet to give to another who is in need, assisting & assisting & assisting & assisting & assisting & assisting & assisting & . . .
  • Love that stops to pray with another who has a burden & prays & prays & prays & prays & prays & prays & prays & . . .
  • Love that gives of himself, of herself, over and over, giving & giving & giving & giving & giving & giving & giving & . . .

AMAZING LOVE ONLY COMES FROM GOD!

AMAZING LOVE CAN ONLY BE SEEN BY KEEPING OUR EYES UPON JESUS!

AMAZING LOVE IS WALKING WHEREVER THE HOLY SPIRIT LEADS US TO GO!

  • On this first day of Lent, on this Ash Wednesday, & on this Valentine’s Day and the birthday of a wonderful godly lady, Ms. Fonnie—may we be the hands and feet of Jesus.
  • Then tomorrow, on Thursday, the second day of Lent, & on ALL the days of ALL the weeks leading us toward Easter Sunday—may we show brotherly & sisterly love by laying down our lives for another.
  • As Resurrection Sunday (Easter) arrives and passes by as Christians celebrate the resurrection of our Savior—may we continue to be ‘salt & light’ in this dark world, displaying the ‘light of Jesus Christ’ to those we encounter each day.
  • May we who have received God’s Amazing Grace display to the world of people surrounding us—GOD’S AMAZING LOVE.

“The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
By this
the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.”

(The First Letter of John 4: 8-9 NASB)

GOD’S AMAZING LOVE—Was displayed on Calvary’s cross for all the world to see!

May we allow the world to SEE JESUS in us!

“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins
[to blot out, to cover our sins with His precious blood].”

(The First Letter of John 4: 10 NASB)
