HE Invites Us
“You have taken account of my wanderings;

Put my tears in Your bottle.
Are they not in Your book?”
I am good at falling.
If you have never met me, then maybe you are unaware of this fact, but I have fallen at least three significant times during the years between COVID 2020 and 2023. Just ask my lower back; it will testify of that fact. So, this condition, this ‘silliness of my actions,’ this ‘not always paying attention to details’ has caused a future I never thought would be mine to claim. A fusion of my lower back.
Yes, I am good at falling, but not just physically. Today, my thoughts need to rest upon the TRUTH of how God Invites Us to Fuse Ourselves to Him Through Prayer!
During the forty-two years the LORD has provided the breath of His Holy Spirit in me, there have been numerous times I have spiritually fallen (sinned). Yes, that is correct; there have been times when I did not obey God but went against Him. Whenever I have blatantly sinned against God OR When I have failed to trust God enough to stop and pray—It was in those specific times when I needed God to reach down, to pick me up, & to help point me back in the direction He would have me to walk.
- Maybe you, too, have fallen.
- Maybe you, too, have sinned.
- Maybe you, too, have failed to PRAY, to do that which you know to do.

The psalmist explains how it is that God takes into “account of my wanderings; . . . .” when I have attempted to do things on my own instead of taking my prayers to the LORD. GOD sees us and knows our substance, for it is HE who has created us. Without Him, without His saving grace, we are nothing, BUT WITH HIM, with His salvation through His Son Jesus, we are set free from the power of sin.
Nevertheless, we still falter; we still fall; we still stumble; we still sin against God. When we do, the LORD sees us and “takes account of the ways we wander” away from His true path.
- Prayer changes everything!
- Jesus invites us to pray!
- God hears every single prayer we pray!
Yes, all of them!
Consider for a time exactly what it is the LORD does when we lift our prayers to Him.
“Put my tears in Your bottle.” God does this for His children.
“Are they not in Your book?” God also does this for the saints.
- GOD collects our prayers & HE places them in a bottle.
- Our LORD writes our prayers in HIS book.
As I visualize what that must look like, in my humanness, I see this ginormous BOOK and I see this beautiful hand of Almighty God writing, yes recording the prayers His children pray. This image makes me ask myself: How full is my account? Is God’s BOOK filled up in the column labeled ‘Nancy New,’ so that God must turn the page, creating a new space for writing my additional prayers?
God invites the saints, those who have accepted His free gift of salvation, to PRAY.
HE INVITES US to lay it all down, to seek forgiveness for our sins, to give our requests, our burdens, our concerns, our everything: on HIM!
So, the question becomes: How are we doing with that?
Truthfully, sometimes we are so burdened that we just do not know how to ask OR what to pray. There is no need to worry because when we do not know the words, the Bible clearly tells us—to not worry—but to pray because in our weakness, God provides a way!

for we do not know how to pray as we should,
but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us
with groanings too deep for words;”

God knows our minds, our weaknesses, and He provides a way for us to communicate our needs. His Holy Spirit hears us, even when we cannot even utter the words in prayer, and God’s Holy “Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;”
THIS IS TOTALLY WONDERFUL!
HE INVITES US DAILY!

Now pause to consider what the world must see when we do not pray.
