Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Rejoice!  Shout!  Become 100% Sold Out—for The KING of kings is Coming!

There are just some parts of my body that fascinate me, that encourage me to watch the way they move.  Take for instance, the tendons inside our hands and feet.  I have been absolutely intrigued since I was a child of eight or nine, watching for long spans of time as my brain caused the tendons inside my hands to constrict and release.  The same is true with my feet.  Amazingly, my mind, my brain could merely move my tendons (without thought it seemed), and right before my eyes, I could only sit and observe.

Hum . . .

The prophet Zechariah proclaimed to Israel these words—

“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your king is coming to you;
He is just and endowed with salvation,
Humble, and mounted on a donkey,
Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”

(Zechariah 9: 9 NASB)

I absolutely love how God makes the Bible so easy to memorize; truly, what can be easier than remembering 9: 9!

“Rejoice greatly, . . .

O daughter of Zion!

Shout in triumph, . . .

O daughter of Jerusalem!

Behold, your king is coming to you; . . .

He is just and . . .

[He is] endowed with salvation, . . . &

[He is] Humble, and . . .

[He is] mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”

Guess what?  He did—come!  Jesus did come into the city Jerusalem, in triumph, Jesus entered the city near the Mount of Olives, where He was to lay down His life for our salvation. And get this.  Jesus entered the cityriding on a donkey!

The apostle Mark proclaimed to us these words—

“As they [the chosen disciples]

approached Jerusalem, at Bethphage and Bethany, near the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples,

and said to them,

“Go into the village opposite you, and immediately as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, on which no one yet has ever sat;

untie it and bring it here.

If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ you say, ‘The Lord has need of it’

and immediately he will send it back here.”

They went away and found a colt tied at the door;

outside in the street;

and they untied it.

Some of the bystanders were saying to them, ‘What are you doing, untying the colt?’

They spoke to them just as Jesus had told them,

and they gave them permission.

They brought the colt to Jesus and put their coats on it;

and He sat on it.

And many spread their coats in the road and others spread leafy branches which they had cut from the fields.

Those who went in front and those who followed were shouting:

“Hosanna!

BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD;

Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David;

Hosanna in the highest!”

Jesus entered Jerusalem and came into the temple; . . .“

(Mark 11: 1-11a NASB)

Yes, I absolutely love how God makes the Bible so easy to memorize; truly, what can be easier than remembering 11: 11!

“Behold, your king is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, Humble, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.” (Zechariah 9: 9b NASB)

&

“Jesus entered Jerusalem and came into the temple; . . .“ (Mark 11: 11a NASB)

  • Rejoice child of God!
  • Shout redeemed one!
  • Become Fascinated with the spread of the Gospel!

For the KING of kings CAME & the KING of kings is COMING AGAIN—just as He promised!

The apostle Paul proclaimed to us these words—

“Now you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it.

And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues.

All are not apostles, are they?

All are not prophets, are they?

All are not teachers, are they?

All are not workers of miracles, are they?

All do not have gifts of healings, do they?

All do not speak with tongues, do they?

All do not interpret, do they?

But earnestly desire the greater gifts.

And I show you a still more excellent way.

. . .

For we know in part and we prophesy in part;

but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.

. . .

For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.

But now faith, hope, love, abide these three, but the greatest of these is love.”

(1 Corinthians 12: 27-31 & 13: 9-10 & 12-13 NASB)
  • God knows what we do not know!
  • God knows everything!
  • God is never surprised!
  • God is never without a solution!
  • God has gifted each of us uniquely with a spiritual gift to be used in service for Him!
  • Just as we cannot see below the surface of our skin with our naked eyes to watch how our tendons move, almost even without thought.
  • Just the same, we cannot see above the atmosphere with our naked eyes to watch how our Father in heaven is orchestrating His universe.

Nevertheless, we do know what we do know, what our Savior has proclaimed—

“But immediately after the tribulation of those days
THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED,
AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT,
AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky,
and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky,
and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn,
and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY

with power and great glory.
And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET
AND THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds,
from one end of the sky to the other.”

(Matthew 24: 29-31 NASB)
  • Accept this TRUTH!
  • Believe this TRUTH!
  • Confess this TRUTH!

Yes, may the children of God—Rejoice & Shout!

May we who have received Christ Jesus as our Savior become 100% totally sold out for Jesus, for so many are not prepared to meet Jesus.

Yes, we can absolutely love how God makes sharing His truth so easy.  Jesus gave His disciples permission to go, to do & then Jesus led them specifically to the task He commanded them to go & do!

How cool is that!

In the Bible, Jesus Himself tells us plainly His Great Commission

Go Tell the WorldThe KING is Coming!
