A walk through life toward eternity

Let Us Be the Hands & Feet of Jesus, Every Day We Live

  • Imagine if Christians did not wander in the ‘wilderness’ of life.
  • Imagine if Christians ‘lived out’ through godly actions what they write, what they post, and what they say they believe.
  • Imagine if Christians walked by faith & accomplished the words God’s Holy Spirit led them to do.

Just Imagine!

If I understand what I have previously read, James, the brother of Jesus, our Savior, was slow to come to believe.  Even though they grew up in the same household & even though James saw the way Jesus moved, spoke, reacted, and lived—Still James was slow to allow Jesus to completely change him and the way he lived his life.

So often, as we consider the biblical persons, I think we have a tendency to think they had an easier time following the Lord, but truly that is just not accurate because they were people too—just like us.

  • They could ‘slack’ in their walk with Jesus, just as we can.
  • They could ‘slack’ in their prayer life, just as we can.
  • They could ‘slack’ in their witness, just as we can.

James, the earthly brother of Jesus and the eternal child of God because of his relationship with Jesus Christ, the Son of God, wrote so much about our faith & our works.  Let us read together.

“What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works?

Can that faith save him?

If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food,

and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,’ and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?

Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.”

(The Letter of James 2: 14-17 NASB)

Then we are given a list of a faithful man and woman, those we know to be followers of Christ Jesus because we see their faith shown through their works.

Verses 21-23—We see Abraham & the way he was led to offer up his son on the altar.

Verses 25—We see Rahab, the harlot & the way she was led to care for the men of God.

Through just these two biblical examples, we see this truth—

GOD CALLS ALL MEN & WOMEN TO HIM!

  • TO KNOW HIM THROUGH THE SHED BLOOD OF JESUS.
  • TO WALK THROUGH LIFE BY FAITH. &
  • TO DO THE FATHER’S WILL—DESPITE THE COST.

“You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.
. . .
For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.”

(James 2: 24 & 26 NASB)
