Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

God—He Takes Away Our Breath!

“When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,

The moon and the stars,

[and the morning sky]

[and the evening sunset]

[and the heat of the noon day]

[and the dawn of a new day]

[and the moon-filled middle of the night]

[and . . .]

which You have ordained;

What is man that You take thought of him,

and the son of man that You care for him?”

(Psalm 8: 3-4 NASB)

God can always—

  • Remind us of His Amazingness!
  • Give us reasons to Celebrate Him!
  • Create inside us desires to Praise His Goodness!
  • Help us recall the many ways He has Provided for us!
  • Cause us to lift up our hand, to twirl, & to sing Hallelujah!

Reveal & Help Us Realize—His Hope is Truly All We Ever Need!

Yesterday morning, I could not help myself; I was compelled deep inside my being to pull out my phone, to take a photo, to post, & to share with the world.

  • Two white houses, now an enrollment center and a graduate office.
  • An octagon-shaped stop sign.
  • A stone column.
  • Red and white flowers.
  • A blacktop street.

A magenta-painted sky that took away my breath!

“Tremble” by Lauren Daigle plays into my earbuds, reminding me through song just exactly what David revealed through his psalm.

“When I consider Your heavens, . . .

[God, whenever I pause to look up, to see]

the work of Your fingers,

The moon and the stars,

[Oh LORD]

which You have ordained;”

God has created each one of us—for such a time as this.  In His Loving Mercy, God renews us day-by-day.  His Amazing Grace readily chases after us, pursuing us, reaching toward us.

God—He Takes Away Our Breath!

It is so wonderful how God can find us as we walk through the ordinary moments of our days; yes, even when parking our Subaru, our breath can catch in our lungs, reminding us:  WHOSE WE ARE!

I do not even think it’s possible to type enough words to proclaim just how GREAT GOD IS!

I cannot believe that we ever find ourselves more focused on our situations, on our health, on our struggles, on our own greatness, or on our problems, temptations, or sins—WHEN OUR BREATH IS TAKEN WHEN WE MERELY—LOOK UP TO SEE GOD’S AMAZING MAGENTA-PAINTED SKY!

There is a HOPE within this world in which we live, one HOPE that truly ever matters.  This HOPE is ours to receive.  This HOPE is also ours to reject.  The HOPE found only in God’s Kingdom, realized while we live, while we walk upon this earth, while there is still time to see God.

  • Father may others see YOU in my actions & reactions.
  • Yes, Father, may others hear YOU in the words I speak & write.
  • Oh God, may I be the servant YOU have called me to be.

May I walk worthy of YOU at such a time as this.

The apostle Peter explains exactly how we, the Redeemed by God, are to live.  Pause to read with me God’s Word

“But you are A CHOSEN RACE,

A royal PRIESTHOOD,

A HOLY NATION,

A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION,

so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

for you once were NOT A PEOPLE, but now you are THE PEOPLE OF GOD;

you had NOT RECEIVED MERCY, but now you have RECEIVED MERCY.”

(1st Peter 2: 9-10 NASB)
  • Almighty God—He Offers His Mercy & His Amazing Grace—Freely to each Man, Woman, Boy, & Girl!
  • The Lord Jesus Christ—He Gave His Life on the Cross & Arose on the third day from the GraveSo We May Have New Life in HIM!
  • His Possession—Forevermore in His Presence—Eternally!

God—Oh, How He Takes Away Our Breath!

Children of the KING of Kings—May we lift up our voices to proclaim, today & tomorrow & every day we live, “the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; . . .”
