Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

The Inheritance—May we proclaim:  “Thank YOU!”

Have we taken time to say:  “Thank YOU!” ?

  • Have we stopped today to pause and proclaim this thanksgiving:  “Thank You, God, for allowing me to serve You.” ?
  • Think for a LONG moment of all the ways the LORD has blessed our days, our years, and our lives.

May we pause right here to lift up our hands & to reflect upon our Father & to offer our praise.

If someone desires to live an upright life, then:

  • He must STAY CONNECTED DAILY TO THE LORD.
  • He must also FOLLOW THE LORD’S TEACHING FOUND IN HIS WORD.
  • He must SEEK THE POWER OF GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT & FOLLOW GOD’S PERFECT WAY.
  • He must lean away from his corrupted, human desires & LEAN UPON OUR SAVIOR’S ARMS.

This is what the LORD requires of His children.  Simple, right.  As we do, we can pause throughout the moments of our days to offer THANKSGIVING for all the LORD has accomplished & all our FATHER allows us to do in & through HIS HOLY NAME.

In reading a passage from the Old Testament, I was reminded what life can look like when a person does not walk by faith with God as his King.  I thank God for reminding me.  It’s quite amazing, even after all these years of walking as a Christian, how God addresses everything humanity needs right on the pages of the Bible, His Word given to people.

Let us read to be reminded of two things—

  1. What life can become when we allow & follow our own lusts to become our king.
  2. What life will lead to when we choose to follow Jesus, the KING of kings.

First, see the “following of our own lusts.”

“In those days there was no king in Israel;
every man did what was right in his own eyes.”

(Judges 17: 6 NASB)

A horrible story comes after this passage, one that speaks of the depravity mankind can concoct within his mind.  Surely, the following points will not do justice to the narrative found on the pages of God’s Word, so I encourage each person to read Judges 17-21 for himself, but be forewarned of the depraved state of mind that comes when—

Every man, woman & child decides to do what is right in his own eyes.

&

Every man, woman & child chooses to NOT follow the beautiful path of Jesus Christ.

Chapter 17—There is no king in Israel & so there is not a ruler chosen to lead the path of mankind.

Chapter 18—There is no king in Israel & so tribes of people seek to claim an inheritance not promised them.

Chapter 19—There was no king in Israel & so while mankind was celebrating life, certain vile thoughts filled their mind as they surrounded the house, demanding that their certain, physical needs be met.  That night, described within the Scripture, reminds us of the real depravity of mankind’s heart when “the KING of kings” is not sought with a person’s heart, mind, & strength.

Chapter 20—There was no king in Israel & so in retaliation of the vile actions of mankind, a young woman was sliced into pieces and sent to all parts of the land of Israel.

Chapter 21—There was no king in Israel & so “everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” (Judges 21: 25 NASB)

It is a truth; the depraved state of mankind’s mind comes when—

Every man, woman & child decides to do what is right in his own eyes

BUT GOD SENT HIS ONLY SON—SO THAT

Every man, woman & child can choose to follow the beautiful path of Jesus Christ.

Surely, the following points will not do justice to the narrative found on the pages of God’s Word, so I encourage each person to read Matthew 25: 31-46 for himself and be forewarned that God promises every single one of us—THERE IS A JUDGMENT DAY COMING!

Pause to read the precious words of the Savior & Messiah Jesus Christ!

“But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, when He will sit on His glorious throne.
[the KING of kings]
All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;
and He will put the sheep on His right and the goats on the left.
Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. . . .”

[Then Jesus creates a list of all the ways those on His right did for Him—His sheep, those who chose to accept His Amazing Grace & who choose daily to follow.]

“Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels, . . .”

[Then Jesus creates a list of all the ways those on His left DID NOT do it unto the least NOR DID NOT do unto Him—the goats, those who chose to NOT accept His Amazing Grace & who choose every day to follow the enemy, the ways of the devil.]

“These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

(Matthew 25: 31-34 & 41 & 46 NASB)

Please turn in God’s Word to read all of the verses, the precious words of the Savior & Messiah Jesus Christ!

  • Truly, the judgment of ALMIGHTY GOD will come, just as He Promised.
  • Truly, God leaves His children here on earth for His Purpose.
  • Truly, we can pause right here to lift up our hands & to reflect upon our Father & to offer our praise.

The Inheritance of God will be AMAZING!
