Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

(You & I ) Must Go Deeper Than Ever Before!

Have we ever wondered what God longs for?

Our first, quick answer, might be—Well, God does not long for anything because God owns everything:

  • the universe,
  • all the galaxies,
  • the planets,
  • the sun, moon, and stars,
  • the land and the seas,
  • the heavens,
  • the animals and the creatures, &
  • mankind He created.

Yes, we might hastily say, “God does not long for anything.”

It is extremely important to realize the Truth—God Does Long for Something for Us!

God lacks nothing!

  • God owns everything!
  • We own nothing!

We Are the Ones Who Do Have A Need!

“But when the fullness of the time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,
so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that they might receive the adoption as sons and daughters.
Because you are sons,
God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts,
crying out, “Abba! Father!”
Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son;
and if a son, then an heir through God.
However at that time, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those which by nature were not gods.
But now that you have come to know God,
or rather to be known by God, how is it that you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles, to which you want to be enslaved all over again?

(Galatians 4: 4-9 NASB)

Today is a day to unpack the truth found here in the apostle Paul’s words to the people of the church in Galatia.

“But when the fullness of the time came, God sent His Son,
born of a woman,
born under the Law,”

(Galatians 4: 4 NASB)

To see the revealed truth, we must return to Dr. Luke’s Gospel where he records the birth of Jesus.

“Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census be taken of all the inhabited earth.
This was the first census taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria.
And all the people were on their way to register for the census, each to his own city.
Now Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,
in order to register along with Mary, who was betrothed to him, and was pregnant.
While they were there, the time came for her to give birth.
And she gave birth to her firstborn son;
And she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger,

because there was no room for them in the inn. . . .”

[Fast-forward to the fields; See the shepherds keeping watch over their flock;
See the angel of the Lord; See the glory of the Lord shining;
See the fright of the shepherds when they saw all this suddenly appear]

“And so the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid;
For behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;
for today in the city of David there has been born for you
a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
And this will be a sign for you;
you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manager.”

(Luke 2: 1-7 & 10-12 NASB)

See the Truth!

See the Timing—the Perfect Timing of God!

“But when the fullness of the time came,
God sent His Son,
born of a woman, born under the Law, . . .”

(Galatians 4: 4 NASB)

God did this!

  • God placed His Son into a woman betrothed to a man who was a descendant of King David.
  • God led Caesar Augustus to take a census, forcing Joseph to take his betrothed wife to Bethlehem.
  • God led Joseph to take Mary to a certain innkeeper who had no vacancy but who had a stable with a manger.
  • God caused Mary to go into labor while resting there—that particular night in the stable.
  • God placed the shepherds in the field with their flock of sheep.
  • God sent His angels to proclaim the Good News of the Birth of God’s Son Jesus!
  • God sent His Only Son into the world—just as He promised He would!
  • God Sent Jesus—“a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
  • God gave the shepherds a sign—“a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manager.”

The apostle Paul wrote to the church in Galatia,

“But when the fullness of the time came, God sent His Son, . . .” (Galatians 4: 4a NASB)

Jesus was not the very first birth in the world God created. However, have we ever wondered—Of all the births in the world—JESUS’ BIRTH IS THE ONE WE CELEBRATE? !!!

“But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, . . .”

(Galatians 4: 9a NASB)

JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW GOD!

It is extremely important to realize the Truth—God Does Long for Something for Us!

(You & I) Must Go Deeper Than Ever Before!

  • GOD LONGS FOR HIS CHILDREN TO WALK IN INTIMACY WITH HIM!
  • GOD LONGS FOR HIS CHILDREN TO BE DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO HIM!
  • GOD LONGS FOR HIS CHILDREN TO KNOW IN FULLNESS HIS LOVE FOR US!
  • GOD LONGS FOR HIS CHILDREN TO WALK FORWARD THROUGH THEIR DAYS WITH SPIRITUAL EYES OF FAITH!
  • GOD LONGS FOR HIS CHILDREN TO BE LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT INTO DEEPER THINGS OF GOD.

There are two melodies:  “God is For Us” by Stars Go Dim that proclaims the boldness we can behold as we walk with God through our days & “Let’s Go Down” by Rhett Walker.

Grab your earbuds, stand so you can move to the music, worship God through song, & remember God’s Promise—“God is For Us!”

  • May we be God’s children, who walk boldly for Him!
  • May we be reminded of the beauty of God’s timing!
  • May we recall how we are children of His Majesty!
  • May we love others as Jesus taught uswith the Love of our Father!
  • May we Go Deeper Than Ever Before!

“so that He might redeem those who were under the Law,
that they might receive the adoption as sons and daughters.
Because you are sons,
God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts,
crying out, “Abba! Father!”

(Galatians 4: 5-6 NASB)
