A walk through life toward eternity

“so must you [and me] do also”

Walking the life of a Christian does not always mean that one will walk the life of ease.  Consider these difficult life situations:

  1. While sitting in the breakroom, co-workers berate a believer whenever he bows his head to pray before lunch.
  2. While sitting in the classroom, peers make fun of another student who carries his Bible to school with him in his backpack.
  3. While striving to walk in faithfulness, an unbelieving spouse divorces a believing spouse, abandoning the other with a mortgage, kids to raise, and bills to pay.
  4. While sharing the testimony of how Jesus changes lives, peers laugh, make fun, even ostracize a believer from the group, leaving the believer (in what seems) standing all alone.
  5. While raising children, the believer realizes that his children are not followers of God and maybe even proclaim:  “Truly, there is no God.”
  6. While walking through life with those within their families, believers experience the heartbreak that comes when their children follow the pleasures found within the world.

While living—On & On & On & On—Despite what landmass a believer calls “home,” there will always be hardships when walking the straight and narrow path God has commanded the believer to walk.  The good news:  God never leaves us, and even though times might be hard, believers are to walk with Him!

Please see with me the Word of God where the truth & direction resides.

“So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,
bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone;  just as the Lord forgave you, so must you do also.”

(Colossians 3: 12-13 NASB)

We must BE THANKFUL FOR GOD!

  • As we go through each day we have been given to live.
  • As we live with our spouse (whether he is a believer or not).
  • As we raise our children (whether they struggle with sin or not).
  • As we work for our employers (whether they treat us right or not).
  • As we witness for our Lord (whether the world believes, turns, and believes or not).
  • As we live (whether the world hates us or not).

While living—On & On & On & On.

We must LIVE-OUT LOUD (FOR THE WORLD TO SEE) THE SALVATION OF GOD!

“as those who have been chosen of God,”—GOD SEEKS FOR ALL TO COME TO KNOW HIM!

“holy and beloved,”—ONCE A CHILD OF GOD, A BELIEVER IS SET APART BY GOD!

“put on a heart of compassion,”—BELIEVERS DO NOT REACT OR ACT OR LIVE LIKE THE WORLD BUT ARE TO LIVE LIKE JESUS!

“kindness,”—EVEN WHEN THE WORLD HATES, BELIEVERS RESPOND IN KINDNESS!

“humility,”—BELIEVERS KNOW AND SHARE:  IT IS NOT WHAT THEY DO BUT BECAUSE OF WHAT JESUS HAS DONE!

“gentleness”—THOUGH THE WORLD STRIKES OUT, CHRISTIANS TURN THE OTHER CHEEK, JUST AS JESUS DID!

“and patience,”—THOUGH THE WORLD OF LOSTNESS SEEMS OVERWHELMING, THE REDEEMED REMEMBER, “GOD’S TIMING IS PERFECT!”

“bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; ”—STRIVING TO LIVE AT PEACE WITH ALL MANKIND, LOVING OTHERS AS JESUS TAUGHT!

just as the Lord forgave you, so must you do also.”—EVEN WHEN THIS LIFE SEEMS EXTREMELY HARD, CHRISTIANS REMAIN FOREVER THANKFUL FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF GOD!

“so must you [and me] do also” [to others who live in our homes].

JUST AS THE LORD DID UNTO US!

“so must you [and me] do also” [to others who work beside us on the job].

JUST AS THE LORD DID UNTO US!

“so must you [and me] do also” [to others who sin differently than us].

JUST AS THE LORD DID UNTO US!

“so must you [and me] do also” [to others who just get under our skin].

JUST AS THE LORD DID UNTO US!

“so must you [and me] do also” [to others who slander our name].

JUST AS THE LORD DID UNTO US!

“so must you [and me] do also” [to others who laugh in our face at the God we serve].

JUST AS THE LORD DID UNTO US!

“so must you [and me] do also” [to others who want nothing to do with our God].

WE ARE TO LOVE JUST AS THE LORD LOVES US!

As I finish typing, the melody “Love God and Love People” by Danny Gokey & Michael W. Smith plays into my earbuds, reminding me that this life:

  • the life of a believer,
  • the life of a child of God,
  • the life of the Redeemed,
  • the life of a Christian is not a life to be lived for self but A LIFE THAT MUST BE LIVED FOR GOD!

This melody speaks God’s message for us.  Listen today & be reminded.

It’s really quite simple!

God Loves Us!

“so must you [and me] do also” [unto the world]!
