Who needs Jesus?
Today, I wonder: Who needs Jesus?
Do we know anyone who needs Jesus?
Yes, I think we know: EVERYONE NEEDS JESUS!
Have we ever been So Lonely we thought no one understood our situation?
Have we ever been So Lonely we thought no one ever walked where we were now walking?
Have we ever been So Lonely we thought no one could ever help us through as we went?
Have we ever been So Lonely we thought even God had turned His back on us or had forgotten us?
Have we ever been So Lonely?
Although we cannot look inside someone’s heart, we can oftentimes see their loneliness displayed in their eyes.
Even though we cannot see a person’s soul, we do have the power to ASK each person we know the most important question: Do you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior?
Most definitely, this question is not such a difficult question to ask.
- Getting to the point in our relationship with another, the point where we have shared the love of Jesus with our friends, relatives, associates, and neighbors—That’s the difficult part.
- Preparing ourselves through daily Bible study and prayer so we are ready for their answers (our friends, relatives, associates, and neighbor’s answers to God’s Question)—That’s the difficult part.
Today, I wonder: Who needs Jesus?
Today, We who are followers of Christ—know: EVERYONE NEEDS JESUS!
“For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.
But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we did in righteousness, but in accordance with His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
whom He richly poured out upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior,
so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
(Titus 3: 3-7 NASB)
I heard a most beautiful melody today, a song new to me, and one that proclaims the Salvation of our LORD. Please pause right here and listen to the melody “Something Worth Singing About” by Nathan Sheridan. You will be blessed when you do.
Each day, I live within the world of English, and such as it is, every day, questions arise from somewhere, from others, regarding English-related questions. In fact, yesterday, at the end of my third class, a young student from Asia stayed behind to speak privately with me. She struggles with spoken English (although her English outweighs my Japanese 4-to-1, hands down). Nevertheless, through our struggle to speak together, we discussed her current essay. She spoke of her topic she had chosen to use: Loneliness. What she hoped to prove within her writing was that “loneliness” could actually be a positive. I distinctly remember asking her these questions—”Have you ever been lonely? & Have you been lonely since you arrived at CU?” Her eyes spoke her answer before her mouth spoke the words.
Her answer reminded me of what God commands me to do.
Her answer reminded me of what must be my focus as I stand to teach.
Her answer reminded me of what ALL CHRISTIANS are commanded to do!
Today, we wonder: Who needs Jesus?
Today, We who are children of God—know: EVERYONE NEEDS JESUS!
- Do our Friends (who we hang out with in fun times) need Jesus? YES, THEY DO—need Jesus when they are hanging out with us & coming over for a Bar-B-Que.
- Do our Relatives (who sit across the table) need Jesus? YES, THEY DO—need Jesus when they are sitting across the table & friending us on social media.
- Do our Associates (who work near us) need Jesus? YES, THEY DO—need Jesus as they are working in the next cubicle & across the hall.
- Do our Neighbors (who live down the street) need Jesus? YES, THEY DO—need Jesus as they are living across the road & down the street.
Today, may we wonder & most definitely may we ask ourselves—Who (do we know who) needs Jesus?
Today, may we be unwavering in our devotion to Christ to be a witness to others.
Today, may we not worry so much about the rejection or criticism we might face.
Today, may we remember that the way we worship God throughout this one day will either draw others to Jesus or push them away from our Savior.
Today, may we be committed to our Lord!
Today, may we walk with our God!
Today, may we be transformed by the Holy Spirit of God!
Today, may we who have been saved by the mercy and grace of God, share the love of Jesus.
Today, may we remember how salvation is based on the merciful things Jesus died upon the cross and within the grave!
Today, may we recall how Jesus washed away our sins with His shed blood!
Today, may we never forget how Jesus did and rose from the dead—so we too could receive new life in HIM!
Today, may we who are commanded by our Father God to go—May We Be witnesses to everyone we know—
BECAUSE EVERYONE NEEDS JESUS!
