Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Let Us Take “IT” to JESUS!

Last night, we were sitting outside eating dinner at a local eatery (my husband and I).  As we sat together, waiting for our number to be called, indicating our food was ready, my husband took hold of my hand, speaking these words:  “Let’s pray now, before our food arrives.”

Then we held hands and prayed.

He spoke the prayer as we prayed together.

He asked for God to take care of our daughters, both the one living with her husband in Germany & the one backpacking through South America with her friend.

Today, as I reflect upon my husband’s prayer, as I think of his request, his asking, his seeking the Lord in his request, the words remind me of a conversation that occurred last week.

“He prays for you.”

“He does?” she replied, asking what seemed to surprise her.

“Yes, he does,” I replied, “every time we bow together to pray.”

Surprise.  Amazement.  Peace seemed to fill her as I sat looking into her eyes.

“I did not know that,” she quietly replied, and her response shouted volumes of what she sensed within her heart.

Prayer Changes Everything!

That is why we must Take “IT” (our everything) to JESUS!

Jesus, the Son of God, said these words, and we have NO REASON to not believe the Word of God!

“For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”

(Matthew 7: 8 NASB)

“everyone who asks receives”

“one who seeks finds”

“knocks it will be opened”

All of this comes down to—ONE TRUTH!

If we have faith . . . in JESUS!

If we believe . . . in JESUS!

If we knock, trusting . . . in JESUS!

We will Receive, Find, & See the Open Door.

Thus, today the questions come to mind:

  • What are we asking for that we really need to receive?
  • What are we seeking that we really need to find?
  • What door stands before us that we really need to be opened?
  • What are we asking for that ONLY JESUS CAN GIVE TO US &
  • What are we asking for that when we receive it, we will recognize JESUS is the ONE who gave it to us?
  • What are we seeking within our lives, within our relationships that when we find it, we will recognize JESUS is the ONE who helped us find what we really needed?
  • What door stands—closed—before us that when it swings open, we will readily recognize that ONLY JESUS could be the ONE who opened it—the door?

Our heavenly Father knows our flesh is weak; He created us!

Our heavenly Father knows our flesh is sinful; He saved us!

Our perfect heavenly Father intimately knows us; He wants to give us good gifts.

Jesus, the Son of God reminds us:  “So if you, despite being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”

(Matthew 7: 11 NASB)

May we TRUST our perfect heavenly Father!

May we have enough—

FAITH to ask for those things, to kneel in prayer, to ask & to RECEIVE  &

May we have enough—

BELIEF to seek those spiritual things we cannot see with our eyes, to seek & to FIND  &

May we always, never stop—

KNOCKING on heaven’s door as we continually pray over those concerns we know cannot happen apart from our Father, Who OPENS the door, allowing us to SEE what lies WITHIN.

The artists Leeland & TAYA speak through song what Jesus spoke to us through His Word.  Pause to listen to “Heart & Flesh.” As they sing the melody, may we be reminded of our part! Those who believe—we only need to do as JESUS told us to do.

“My soul thirsts for You—Jesus.

For You.

For You.

My heart cries out,

For You,

For You,

For Jesus.

My Heart & My Flesh—cries out—for YOU!”

“Heart & Flesh”

Let’s take IT to Jesus!

Let’s take IT to Jesus!

Let’s take IT to Jesus!

Most assuredly, we cannot, should not, would not know how, so we MUST TAKE “OUR EVERYTHING”—TO JESUS!

May we TRUST in JESUS, the only ONE who can ever carry our burdens, our concerns, our prayers, our troubling news, our sickness & disease, our fears, our _____________!

May we NOT GROW WEARY in ASKING, SEEKING, & KNOCKING!

May we TAKE “IT” to JESUS, today!

“For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”

(Matthew 7: 8 NASB)
