My husband has a job that requires him to be on call, one that makes him take “hold call,” and so his phone remains “unsilenced” because he must be readily available to answer when the phone rings and ready to go where the trouble leads.
In order to have a calling, there needs to be a caller, one making the call.

My husband’s employer also requires that he stay within a certain mile radius from his territory so that if trouble arises, then he will be close by to repair the trouble.  So, when he is “holding call,” oftentimes he will carry his work clothing and items needed, so he can be ready when the phone rings.  Whenever, the phone rings, my husband does not hesitate to answer, but answers immediately, fully aware that the call cannot and should not ever be ignored.
In order to have a calling, there needs to be a caller, one making the call.

My husband is a good employee.  He takes serious His “hold call” when the phone rings.  One time, I asked him, “What would happen IF you could not answer the call?”    He replied, “The dispatcher would call the next person closest to the problem territory.” That has NEVER occurred for as long as my husband has been employed and held call.  He is a dedicated employee and takes his “hold call” seriously.

Nothing is as important as when the LORD speaks to us.  No, Nothing!!! When God calls, He expects us (His children) to answer. Yes, truly, God holds us accountable to His calling.

Why?……..As in, Why would God ever want to call us?

When we are called by Father God, we are called to His salvation & His righteousness; then, when we serve others, we receive His blessing;  and when we give of ourselves to meet a need, then the goodness of God washes over us.
In order to have a calling, there needs to be a caller, one making the call.

WHO—God calls people to Himself, to His salvation freely offered to us through His Son Jesus.

HOW—God uses His Word, (the Holy Bible), pastor’s sermons, other Christian’s witness, life situations, and God’s Holy Spirit to call people to Himself.

WHEN—God calls us in His perfect timing.

WHERE—God never expects us to “clean up ourselves first,” but God calls us exactly where we are in life.  &  God calls us to turn around exactly where we are, to Turn and to Follow Him. God calls us individually. God calls us to go exactly where we could never go alone……….Because it is a TRUTH…….God goes with us, taking us where we most need to go & where we are most needed.

WHAT—-God calls us to do what He knows is most needed—-Everyone is in need of God’s Salvation!!! EVERYONE!!! Once we accept God’s call upon our lives, God will then lead us to meet the needs of others.

WHY—God calls because HE Loves All His Creation and He wants All people to come to know Him. It is the TRUTH of God. Father God wants no one left behind, & HE wants All people to know and receive the fullness of HIM. God wants No One Left Behind….No One!!!

On the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus Himself told us that if we hunger and thirst after His righteousness (meaning if we listen for His calling, seek Him with our everything), then we will be SATISFIED (Matthew 5:6).
It is a promise of God. It is a privilege given to us from God Himself.

So,…….

Maybe you are reading this and you have never heard God call (you remain lost to God) because you have silenced every way possible to NOT HEAR GOD CALL.  Maybe you have Never answered the call of God, and you know you should.
Today is a brand new day. & Today is a new opportunity to answer God’s call on your life.

OR,……

Maybe you are reading this and have already answered God’s call (you are His child), but you have placed God on hold, choosing to walk through your days alone, not talking daily with God, not absorbed in His Word, not surrounding yourself with other believers, and not worshipping God in your day-to-day. 
Today is a brand new day. & Today is a new opportunity to answer God’s call on your life.

God led the apostlePaul to write to those people living in Rome these words.
“Let love be without hypocrisy.    Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.    Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the LORD;  rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality ” (Romans 12: 9-13).

Today, we have One calling….a CALLER…..GOD HIMSELF.

Today, we have a reason we are being called by GOD HIMSELF……We need GOD more than anything!!!

Today, we can answer the call of God OR We can choose to ignore God’s calling.    It truly is an individual choice.

GOD is calling us to know HIM…….GOD is the ONLY ONE CALLING US. Our task: TO ANSWER HIS CALL.
